Tired of listening to that Caroline pressing of Rock For Light with its shitty metal mix, sped up songs and different track listing? Lucky for you theres a few choices at your disposal. First you can start with
akumanouta and his 1st pressing on PVC.

Feeling a little more ambitious and you can go for the French pressing offered up by isao100. Sure the shipping would be from Japan but how often do you see this pop up?

Really feeling like a completist? greece! has up a new one for me. This is my first time seeing a greek pressing of this and i’m thinking i might need it myself.

Now lets say you’re having doubts you’re going to like the original mix over the Caroline mix. Why not pick up this test pressing from slcd.com to check the audio quality?

At one point I owned 2 of these which i got for under $100, so the BIN is a little high for my tastes given the relative ease of finding one. That doesnt make it any less of an awesome record though and its definitely not the highest I’ve seen one be priced at.

I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if it turns out that Cooch knows who distortnewyork is. It just seems likely that he’d know a seller with an SST test press up for sale, even if it’s for a record as wishy washy as HR’s solo effort “It’s About Luv”.

When it comes to quality, the “transition between Rock For Life/I Against I” sounding A side of this is def about luv for me, but the B side of this is straight up hate. Terrible, sub-Marley imitation jams. Blecch.

Charles from gernblandsten has a nice little batch of LPs up (including a sealed Straight Ahead 12″!), and here’s one that goes nicely with the Bad Brains LPs posted below…

In the weird gray area of Bad Brains history between Rock For Light and I Against I, HR ventured of into solo territory and released a few records. Most of these records are pretty forgettable and can be found in record store bargain bins across America, but this first release, It’s About Luv, has some great hardcore rippers that are right up there with the Bad Brains material of the time.

This is a sealed original press on Olive Tree, before it was later repressed by SST.
