The zine is a lost art, but it’s not dead, and the fine folks at redscrollstore have a wide selection of zines from through out the last decade and a half that prove it’s so. And speaking of art, these first three zines all have some great cover art, including what looks like some early work from our pal Spoiler…

I was never really into most of the bands Impact covered in it’s pages, but issue 2? The “Closing the Doors on The Anthrax” issue? Holy crap. I found it a better read than the actual book on the Anthrax that came out earlier this year (good book, just it was literally the complete history of the Anthrax, and let’s face it I only really was interested to hear about the NYHC years).

Bridge 9 even had a zine going for a little bit. Originally it was a one page “Fact Sheet”, and from there it actually became a full size zine/catalog for a couple issues. Pretty sure there was a picture of me moshing with my shirt over my face to AN at Mass Art in this one (or maybe that was in that dude Max Powers zine, he worked at B9 for awhile there so I could be confused).

Change Zine was always a good read, even if I wasn’t enough of a basketball fan to appreciate a lot of the content. But The Simpsons issue was priceless, and the dude did a whole column ragging on STB for accidentally breaking his nose at a show in the final issue, not mention interviews with dudes like Chaka and Sammy. It’s a shame the comp that came with the Simpsons issue isn’t included.

And of course what modern zine collection wouldn’t be complete without at least one issue of Town of Hardcore?

There’s so many more listed in redscrollstore‘s other items. An later issue of Suburban Voice, several issues of Start Today… Myself, I would have put the lesser known ones up in a lot, but maybe you can drop them a line about combining some shipping.
