Iron Age for (rejected) test press Tuesday

Not only is this Iron Age test press a reject, there’s also 200 of them. So many rejects, at least they aren’t lonely. From the Painkiller site:

Approx. 200 black vinyl
Two batches of about 100 each were made, all copies have a loud pop about 10 seconds into side A. Transparent overlay sleeve.

Doesn’t appear to be the overlay sleeve here, but still aside from the approved test press, this is the rarest version of the record. Check out all the goodies that endofanear has for sale now. Some good stuff there!

Test Press Tuesday: The Way Is Narrow.

Thankfully, my power came back on a few hours ago, so I am done with bouncing from wifi spots, and back sitting comfortably while posting up this Iron Age test press being auctioned by pim_sb. Alas, I don’t have time to say anything about it, as I now have a fridge full of food to go through to figure out what went bad over the last day…

Saturday Demos: The LOC

Ok, ok, I confess. Not all of these demos are from Lockin Out Records. But, most of the bands have a Lockin Out affiliation (plus, the seller listed them all with “Lockin Out” keyword. Smart. Glad to see he’s upped some great demos with good shipping charges).

SOS. Lockin Out Records. I’ve heard people say this is the worst release by Lockin Out Records. Thing is, the worst Lockin Out release is still better than 95% of the rest of the stuff out there. No doubt. The band would then release an EP on Perfect Victim Records and then immediately break up. Bummer. Head over to DWI to get the EP and a few other Perfect Victim Records items. Sadly, this is the only Lockin Out tape I don’t have.

War Hungry demo. Obviously not Lockin Out related, but certainly Lockin Out affiliated. Hoodrack is a bro. Shout outs to Stick Together. Go get your No More Games EP pre-order in NOW.

Iron Age demo. Some heavy mosh from Austin, Texas. The Butcher’s Bill EP on Lockin Out is stellar. Not to be missed.

Restless Youth – Bad Trip. Jaybil loves them. Good enough for me.

Say Goodbye. This crew brought it. Always an enjoyable gig. They would later disband and form Rampage, Waste Management, Mind Eraser, … LOC represented and approved!

Abusive Action … Ok, I’ve got nothing on this one. Perhaps they played some gigs with Mental in Europe? Anyone, anyone?

Iron Age RIP

I heard a rumor that Iron Age was breaking up. SHITTY. Someone tell me it was just a rumor … Otherwise, better snap up this vinyl from planetrakis and icegrillz05 while the price is still low. If they do break up, you can expect their stock to rise.

Constant Struggle. Red vinyl. Moshing.

Dude, who knew there were this many covers of the Burden Of Empire EP? Not me. Dig it. I can see Marcus Andrews having a cow about this right now … ;) Just kidding, dude.

Iron Age

Back when the first Iron Age LP dropped, I listened to it.

I enjoyed it, but after a few listens, I put it away.

Fast forward a year, I catch Iron Age with War Hungry at the Midway Cafe. Hoodrack asked the doorman if he could “get his webmaster in.” No joke. Hoodrack called me the “webmaster.” And you know what, it worked. I enjoyed Iron Age that night. They were good.

Fast forward a few more years (lots of fast forwarding here, don’t fast forward through these albums though), and Marcus reignited my interest in this band. There was a lot, A LOT of hype surrounding this release, but Marcus laid it out in terms I could understand. It didn’t hurt that he kept posting more and more pictures of vinyl.

This limited version is damn ill. What about this poster? So great.

Dumb if you don’t snag this. Then go read The Endless Quest blog. One of my faves. Should be one of your faves too.
