Joey C: The Demos.

I’ve never heard of redscrollstore before, but apparently they’re a record store in CT that’s been around since 2007. I doubt they’re striving to fill the void left behind by the late great Trash American Style, but they sure are knocking it out of the park with the demo collections… case in point, you can get the entire demo discography of Joey C, starting with the Invasion demo…

(This did come with a lyric sheet, but it was a photocopied and folded piece of paper attached via rubber band. You could easily borrow a friend’s and make your own)

And then there’s both the Stop And Think demos, as collected on Both Demos:

And of course we’ve got Righteous Jams (is it me or does this cover look a little weird? Like it’s missing the fold out or something. Probably just doesn’t have a case for it and didn’t bother to fold it out):

And there’s even a possible rarity for the pièce de résistance…

Cute As A Button, Tough As Nails? I have literally never seen or heard of this version of the RJ demo before. In fact, it’s not even the demo line up on the cover. Any ideas Cooch?

Stop & Think Walks Straight Ahead.

Our old friend delapasion brings us another awesome record in the form of the Straight Ahead rip off version of the Stop And Think “Both Demos” lp.

An X’d up Joey C flipping the bird while playing guitar and wearing a WarZone camo hat will always be awesome.

Mosh Camp

If there was ever a time to bust open that piggy bank, now is the time. What you are looking at here is an American Nightmare Mosh Camp EP. I honestly can’t figure out who the seller is (based on their location and the depth of their collection) but you can tell it’s the legit shit. Some serious big time records here.

Do you know the Mosh Camp story? It’s pretty simple. It started with a crew of dudes looking to hang out, up their game some. Boston Straight Edge. Dudes would roll to Joey Cs house or up to Mullets in the Valley on hot summer days. They’d hang and dive into pools for hours. There were also many night time missions cruising around BU looking for the best track and field pits to dive into. I went on a few of those, but missed out on the pool times. When it came time for AN to release some EPs, the dudes set 24 aside. They printed up some obviously chill covers and wrote accolades for whomever was receiving the EP. This particular one appears to be for Clevo (of Ten Yard Fight, In The Red, Stop And Think, Right Brigade, …). But I’m 99% certain that Clevo is NOT the seller. Very interesting.

Good luck folks. I was tempted to make a big opening bid, but am going to sit back and wait. I never got one of these. And I’m probably the worst off for it. If you’ve seen my stage dives, you’d agree.

Mental GAOT record release

Sold at the record release show at an Elks lodge if I remember correctly. Not my favorite place for gigs but always good company. This is the rarest version of this 7″. Shirts in the same colorway were also released at the show. The brazil colorway being more rare.
The only time in my life I ever made a fanzine(How Much Art Can You Take Fanzine), I sold them at that show and gave the rest of them to Mental to sell on tour afterwards.
