Joy Division 1st 7″

c.hatch66 has a pretty good stock of Joy Division records for sale, and here’s the top of the heap…

JD’s first single from 1978 on their own Enigma label, and much like the Nirvana Love Buzz posted below, there are a ton of very close fakes so you need to have all the details when buying. This seller spells it out pretty good, and this one’s the real deal. Also like Love Buzz, this one will probably hit the $1500-$2000 mark, so sit back and enjoy the ride.

Closer, Unknown Pleasures, and Still

chicosbailbonds is one of the coolest eBay user ids I’ve seen in awhile. Incase you’re to young to know that Billy Bob Thornton wasn’t the real Coach Buttermaker, Chicos Bail Bonds was the sponsor of the team in the original Bad New Bears. Walter Matthau was Coach Buttermaker and the movie was just much better all around!

Here we have the Joy Division box set that I’m a little confused about. I know there was a Joy Division box set released for Record Store Day this year and it was suposed to be limited to 820 pieces. However there seem to be a few places online that you can order this same set for about the same price and they say its limited to 3000. I dont know if maybe the Record Store Day one was numbered or had a special sticker or something, but maybe one of you guys do!?

Anyway, this is limited to somewhere between 820 and 3000 and it includes 180-Gram virgin vinyl copies of Unknown Pleasures (1979), Closer (1980) and the two-disc rarities compilation STILL (1981). It all comes packaged in a hardbound cloth covered box that kind or reminds me of a real to real tape box.

As an added bonus heres an auction for a replica of one of the original Bad News Bears ‘Chicos Bail Bonds’ jerseys. I suggest one of the following, Tanner – #12, Engelberg – #5, Kelly – #3, Lupus – #4 and if your a girl Amanda – #11.

JOY DIVISION – Warsaw LP/7″

There’s nothing that screams JOY DIVISION quite like a set of rainbow tie dye splatter records, right? Not sure what the deal with this is, other than the fact that it’s a bootleg, but this is really freakin’ cool looking set of records. They just don’t do vinyl like this anymore. The auction info reads like something that was copied off of the insert, most likely written by an unscrupulous bootlegger.

Warsaw was JD’s name before they were JD, and they never had a legit release under that name. They were a lot more “punk” than JD, sounding not unlike early Wire or Crisis. There are a million different bootlegs of these songs, this one being one of the more interesting looking versions.
