Vinyl Noize | Kip Winger

Over the last week there has been a lot of great Misfit records, some awesome Samhain stuff as well as a few other seasonal records that I think were pretty cool, but I wanted to end my Halloween (11:59pm est) with this one.

I mean what is more Halloween then Alice Cooper sinigng about Jason Voorhees!? Now I know its not as good a song as Halloween I or II by the Misfits, but its 2 icons of horror on one single 7″ slab of vinyl… and its in a Japanese picture sleeve too!!

I got to see Alice in 1987 when I was 13 years old. I actually got the tickets for my birthday and had Alice on my birthday cake! That one left a lot of my friends moms questioning my parents! Alice had been on a downslide after putting out a few records that people just didnt understand, especially ZipperCatchesSkin and Dada, but then out of no where he struck back with the Constrictor album and went out on the “welcome back to my nightmare tour”.

This single “Hes back (the man behind the mask)” is from the Constrictor record and was the official theme to Friday the 13th part VI. Plus… if thats not enough to sell you on this record, KIP WINGER plays bass on it!

As an added bonus (and to give you a good laugh) here is me at my 13th birthday party blowing out the candles on my Alice Cooper birthday cake. I know its me in the picture, but it amazes me how much of a girl I look like!? Dont say I dont give till it hurts for the Vinyl Noize readers…. I’ll be hiding my head in embarrassment if anyone needs me.
