Doctor Octagon is one of the alter egos of Kool Keith and he’s one of the the most bizzare rappers of all time. I dont know if Keith was high and just came up with all the back story while doing the songs, which I heard he wrote and recorded in 24 hours in the studio, or if he came up with the elaborate history of the character before hand, but either way its awesome!

Doctor Octagon describes himself as having green skin with yellow eyes and a pink/white Afro. He’s a doctor who specializes in chimpanzee acne, moosebumps and relocate saliva glands and he has an uncle named Mr. Gerbik who is half shark, half alligator and is 208 years old.

Doctor Octagon was killed by Doctor Doom (another one of Kool Keiths alter egos) but a return from the dead was planned. Keith started recording ‘The Return of Doctor Octagon’ but quit the project due to multiple problems and ended up giving the half finished lable tapes he assumed they would not relase, but they did and it sucked!

I’m not sure if the ‘official’ Return of Doctor Octagon ever came out the way that Keith wanted it to, but this first album (Dr. Octagonecologyst) is a classic that for all hip hop fans!
