Our good friend Kyle from Rivalry / Seeking The Simple is unloading a few heavyweights from his collection this week. And this Chain 7″ is certainly up there. Kyle points out in the listing that this copy is missing the insert (which would then mean it is missing its number, oh no!!!) but this is still worthy of the spotlight. If you know the deal, you know the deal, but if you don’t, this variation of the Chain Of Strength “What Holds Us Apart” 7″ has the orignal cut, that, as the story goes, the band never approved. 500 were pressed of this record, but the band said “No way dude” and insisted the record be recut. Apparently, each of the 5 members of the band took 100 copies to do whatever with. Chris Bratton sold his copies to Tim from Mouthpiece, covers and inserts were printed, and the Chain Crew 7″ was born.  Though there are 400 more copies of this exact same record out there with different covers (the Confusion sleeve) the Chain Crew draws the most attention… and by attention, I mean dollars.
