Boston had a real knack for kicking out great punk singles in the late 70′s—these guys, Unnatural Axe, Nervous Eaters, VINNY, etc—and some might argue this is the best of the lot. Personally I would argue that this is only the second best Boston punk single with a song about blowjobs (first being the Nervous Eaters’ “Just Head”), but that’s neither here nor there. These guys never made another proper record but there are plenty of reissues out there comping together live/demo material. All good stuff, but nothing will ever top “Better Off Dead.”

Supposedly there are only 500 copies pressed, but it turns up way too much for me to believe that. This record tends to stay pretty cheap, so you should be able to pick up a bona fide Killed By Death classic for under 40 bucks.
