‘Tis the Season!

There are a few punk rock Christmas songs out there and a bunch of punk/hardcore bands have covered holiday classics, but I cant really think of one that captures the feeling of a punk rock Christmas better than FEAR’s 1982 single ‘Fuck Christmas’. If you want to play this one with the kiddies around or while grandma is over you can flip it over and play the B side ‘Beep Christmas’.

I have my doubts about this item being sold by dog-face because it looks like its in way to good of condition to actually be a 28 year old promo poster, but its still kinda cool looking.

this is an original FEAR ‘The Record’ test press and it is not from a more recent reissue or anything like that. Problem is that its not the Slash Records test press. Its from the Australian press on Big Time Records. It was pressed in 1982 and its pretty cool, but its not as cool as a Slash test press would be.

Fun Facts:
- Lee James Capellaro (aka Lee Ving) turned 60 on April 10th
- Lee was in a band called MD.45 with Dave Mustaine of Megadeth and Jimmy DeGrasso of Suicidal Tendencies
- Fear apeared on the halloween episode of Saturday Night Live in 1981 because John Belushi insted that they perform if SNL wanted him to come back for 2 skits
- Lee Ving has apeared on TV and film in the… The 1987 cult classic “Dudes”, As part of Fear in the 1980 punk documentary “The Decline of Western Civilization”, as a strip club owner in “Flashdance”, as Mr. Boddy in “Clue” (the movie based on the boardgame), as well as small roles in “Streets of Fire”, the rock and roll comedy “Get Crazy”, an episode of “Who’s the Boss”, an episode of “Fame” and in an episode of the “Three’s Company” spin-off, “Three’s a Crowd”
- Lee suffers from Bi-Polar Disorder

HAVE A BEER WITH FEAR!

I LOVE FEAR and I’m not afraid to say it! I’m not sure which of these records I actually like better though. FEAR would have been a perfect canidate for one of those 2 records on 1 CD that ‘Another Planet’ released in the 90′s.

I’ve seen FEAR twice, once in the 90′s and once last year and they were awesome both times! I realize that its just Lee Ving and some other guys, but I dont care! I even get excited when CLUE the movie is on because Lee Ving is in it for a few minutes!

Reissue or not these are BOTH worth owning!!
