Flyer Noize: Misfits Michigan Madness

Looks like if you wanted to catch the Misfits on a regular basis between 1981 and 1983 then Michigan was the place to be. Of course most of us werent around then for it but luckily rickyball was and saved some of these gems. Some are fairly “common” if you collect Misfits flyers and others are real rarities. I think this is the first time ive seen the Bookies flyer for sale. My personal fav is the Oct 29th 1983 flyer which is for the last Misfits show. Its not the best shape but its the rarer orange paper which is +1 level up if youre trying to catch em all.

More Jeff Nelson…

Another batch of treats from Jeff Nelson, this time of the paper goods variety. I know I’ve said it before, but it’s amazing the amount of stuff this guy hung on to, and how detailed his notes are about everything he sells. Also, everything is typically in perfect shape — I’ve bought copies of both of these flyers from him and they were in absolutely flawless condition.

This show is pretty legendary, I know there are bootlegs of both the Minor Threat and SSD sets kicking around on vinyl (the SSD one looks like a 7″ sized Kids Will Have Their Say and has great stage banter) and I’m pretty sure the insert pics from Out of Step were taken at this show.

OK, I gotta admit that as big of a Pushead fan that I am, his early work is pretty hit or miss and this one definitely falls more to the miss side (though a humorous miss). Killer lineup though.

Lots And Lots And LOTS Of Lots.

When I said that seller lissareeder was selling pretty much nothing but record lots, I wasn’t kidding. Not even a little bit. And like I said at the end of the last post, whether you’re looking to start up a collection of punk or metal, she’s got you covered…

Phew. I think I’ve shown you pretty much all of the notable stuff on her page of auctions, but there are still others up there, so it’s worth taking a peek. Have a good weekend everyone.

Some more cool BIN’s

Some more nice BIN price records from teenagetupelo

1. Clitboys We Don’t Play The Game 7″ – great and under-appreciated midwest hardcore ripper, notable for being mentioned on the Tesco Vee 12″. Which brings us to…

2. Meatmen Crippled Children Suck 7″ – sorry for the respost on this one, but the price is right so why not? IMO the tunes on this record aren’t so hot but I can never look at the cover or read the lyrics without LOLing hard.

3. Anemic Boyfriends Boys Are Not Proud 7″ – The first (and only?) early punk record from Alaska. Cool all-girl stuff that kinda sounds like the Slits.

Crippled Children Suck

nuttymad is still liquidating his record collection and there hasn’t been a clunker in the bunch yet.

I was tempted not to post this one because I really kind of want it, but I am completly dedicated to you, the Vinyl Noize viewing audience!

From 1982 Touch-N-Go Records #8 the Meatmen ‘Crippled Children Suck’ ep! Original with insert in great shape, except for a price tag on the sleeve.

Blüd Sausage!

Who knew there were so many awesome records in Wakefield, Massachusetts!

The 1982 debut (not counting the demo) from The Meatmen! As great as this record is it looks like value wise its taken a nose dive. A year+ ago it was selling for over $200 and now…. not so much. I’m nots ure what the reserve is, but you might be able to use the recession to your benefit and get it for a bargain price now before it rises back up to its rightful place!

This is a one owner copy complete with the original insert and just waiting for you to take it home!

Whats up with the ABBA obsession!?

1986 Caroline Records Meatmen ‘ROCK N ROLL JUGGERNAUT …. THE TRUE STORY’ flexi disc.

Seller lists it as having 5 untitled tracks and an interview with Tesco.

I don’t know how rare this is, but there are probably not a ton of them left in playable condition.

…and you suck!

Tesco Vee & The Meatkrew was the band that Tesco formed after disbanding the Meatmen and moving from Michigan to Washington, DC in 1984. The Meatkrew featured a line up including Lyle Preslar and Brian Baker of Minor Threat.

The Dutch Hercules ep was released as a 7′, 12″ and cassette as Touch & Go Records #12.

It looks like this exact same test press was sold on eBay January 24th, 2010 for $61 but I dont know if it was the same seller or not.
