PANZER BENNETT

infinite_justice is selling a Panzer Bastard cassette that I’ve never seen. The description says ” BASTARDS DIE HARD – Original 2011 French Edition cassette on Maltkross Prds”

Keith Bennetts Deathwish Movers TV show may have been (sadly) canceled, but you can pick up this cassette add it to your collection of Wrecking Crew & Bitter stuff! My favorite Keith Bennett quote…. (while talking about himself) “They will think this guy Looks like Hetfield, plays like Cliff & talks like Lars”

Keeping it Reel!

I posted up the auction for the Sick of it All & Corrosion of Conformity Reel-to-Reel tapes the other day, but talbe1019 has a lot more auctions for the 2 band/2 tape sets. In some cases the bands they have matched up are kind of odd, but I still think these are a pretty cool collectible!

Rage Against the Machine live at the Gothic Theater – Denver, CO and Primus from the 1993 Lollapalooza tour

Pantera – Palladium, L.A. 1992 and Animal Bag – Athens, GA with no date. I’ve actually never heard of Animal Bag, anyone got any info?

Motorhead Live in L.A around 1990/1991 and Little Caesar live at the Bananas in Santa Ana on May 8th, 1992. I saw Little Caesar open for Kiss on the ‘Hot in the Shade tour’, man they were bad!! The seller also has another Motorhead reel for sale in a seperate auction.

Sacred Reich recorded live at the Country Club in Reseda Ca. and Anthrax recorded live in Dallas 1989. I think that the Anthrax set might be from when they opned for Ozzy on the No Rest For The Wicked Tour, which I saw in Providene, RI.

Lots And Lots And LOTS Of Lots.

When I said that seller lissareeder was selling pretty much nothing but record lots, I wasn’t kidding. Not even a little bit. And like I said at the end of the last post, whether you’re looking to start up a collection of punk or metal, she’s got you covered…

Phew. I think I’ve shown you pretty much all of the notable stuff on her page of auctions, but there are still others up there, so it’s worth taking a peek. Have a good weekend everyone.

Harley Cro-Mag 2-fer

Here’s a cool version of Age Of Quarrel you don’t see every day, the GWR press from ’87 released in Europe. GWR was run by the Motörhead camp, and I assume this release came about after the ‘Mags went on tour in support of Lemmy & Co. As you can see from the pic, this has the original uncensored artwork, which I can only assume is what was used in the making of that bootleg 10″ of the demo tape.

And here’s a cool vinyl reissue that just came out courtesy of ROIR, featuring a young HF behind the skins. The Stimulators released one well-known 7″ (Loud Fast Rules), one not-as-well known 7″ (M.A.C.H.I.N.E.), and a live tape recorded in Virginia Beach and released by ROIR in 1981. The live tape has a ton of songs not on the 7″s, and this is the first time it’s been available on vinyl. I also recently found an old NY Rocker magazine with an NYHC scene report, which mentions that they recorded an LP in late 1981 but it was shelved due to “Harley picking up the bass to start his own band, the Cro-Magnons”. Inside sources tell me the LP session sounds like “a more hardcore Damned”, which sounds amazing to me. Hopefully it will see the light of day at some point.

THE BAD VIBES – Buy It Now or Download It…

mainstjukebox is selling 2 CDs by a band I love that happens to feature a very good friend of mine, Geoff Gavin, on vocals.

The Bad Vibes are a punk/hardcore/rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that you REALLY need to check out. I’m not sure who to compare them to for you, but Geoff has really good taste in music and it shows. The Bad Vibes seemed to ‘break up’ a couple of years ago but they are back at it full force again and in the words of Mr. Gavin, “yo…. we haven’t played for a while… now we are…. this ain’t a “reunion”… we didn’t feel like playin… now we do… the end….”

Now if you choose you can bid on the 2 CDs that mainstjukebox is selling and pick up both discs for less than $10. However… I have a special gift for you, the dedicated Vinyl Noize readers! The Bad Vibes are not trying to make a buck off of you and because of that they have set up their website with FREE downloads of both their stuido albums and a live record from Club 218.
Just head over to www.thebadvibes.net and get all three records FREE!

If you do download the records and you like them just do the band a favor and check out www.myspace.com/thebadvibes and look them up on facebook so you can ‘like’ them and keep up to date on any shows they play and the new songs they are working on.

THE HEAD CAT

I’m a huge fan of Motorhead and I’m a casual fan of the Stray Cats, but when I found out that Lemmy and Slim Jim Phantom had formed a band I was curious and confused. I got the CD and its okay… I don’t know how many times I’ve listened to it since I got it, but now that I’ve been reminded of it I might dig it out again.

Its got a bunch of covers of songs by Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, Jimmy Reed, T-Bone Walker, Lloyd Price, Elvis and Johnny Cash. The covers make sense since the band started with Lemmy and the guys just jamming in the studio on old rock songs they all knew how to play.

Its an interesting CD especially if youre a Lemmy super fan and the copy that get_importcds has is cheap enough to take a chance on it.

MOTORHAED or MOTORHEAD?

onionsoup1972 made a spelling error and it may cost him a sale, but not if you jump in and buy this album!

Maybe you’re looking for a copy of Motorhead – The Birthday Party LP, but would you be willing to settle for the same LP by MOTORHAED? Its still some great songs recorded live at their 10th anniversary show Hammersmith, 26 June 1985! Its also an AWESOME album cover!!

WENDY O. WILLIAMS

I’m sure it would be tough to confirm it, but the sellers says that this is the bottom half of a guitar that was chainsawed by Wendy O. Williams (who was famous for chainsawing guitars, TV, cars and anything else near her).

He aquired it at a show in a bowling alley in the mid to late 80′s, possibly in NY where he is from, but I’m not sure. Definitly a cool piece of memorabilia if the story is true. The signature does look similiar to an LP sleeve that I have signed by Wendy.

RIP Wendy

when Lemmy met Wendy…

I’ve actually never heard this record, but I really want to get it. I’m a huge fan of both the Plasmatics & Motorhead so how can this be bad!?

It it kind of scary that Wendy & Lemmy were a couple for a while. Imagine what their kids would have looked like? Scary! All though I always say that Wendy is the hottest ugly chick ever. I used to watch Reform School Girls on late night cable everytime it was on back in the late 80′s/earl 90′s. A women in prison movie staring Wendy O. is an instant classic in my eyes!

Rest In Peace Wendy!

PROBOT!

Probot is the brainchild of Dave Grohl. He decided to sit down and write a bunch of songs that sounded exactly like songs that some of his favorite bands would have written. Dave played guitar, bass and drums on all the songs (except 1 that had a guest bass player) but decided not to sing on the tracks. What did mega-superstar Dave Grohl do about filling in the vocal duties? Well he went right to all the people that he had more or less written the songs for anyway and each song had a different guest vocalist.

The Probot record plays like a mix tape you would have skateboard to in the mid 90′s with songs by/that sound like Venom, Sepultura, Motorhead, COC, DRI, Napalm Death, St. Vitus, Celtic Frost, Voivod, Trouble & Merciful Fate!

I’m pretty sure when Southern Lord put this out on vinyl they did some pretty limited colors and I assume this is the most standard copy or some kind of 2nd or 3rd press because its being sold by Newbury Comics, but the record is awesome and you should buy it!

BATTALION OF SAINTS – Fighting Boys 12″

I like ranking things in lists, so here’s one of the three best 12″ ep’s that would fit on one side of a 7″, along with Black Flag Jealous Again and the Straight Ahead 12″.

These guys took the best elements of Motörhead (metal) and Discharge (d-beat) and combined it with a healthy dose of Southern California to make some rippin’ metal-tinged hardcore. Guitarist Chris Smith was a certified shredder, even lending some licks on one of the Kraut LPs, before his untimely demise (passed out in a bathtub, I believe.) Allegedly the band is cursed, as all original members aside from singer George Anthony are dead, but I saw these guys about 15 years ago and everyone from that lineup is still alive.

Also cool with this copy, aside from belonging to Chuck Dukowski, is that it has a press kit with it. I got one of these off ebay a couple years ago in a lot of random flyers, and it’s filled with KILLER material.
