importsounds is selling a clear vinyl promo version of Back with a Bong. From the photo I don’t know what makes it different than the standard pressing(Probably the white labels). I was surprised how much this was going for, but in looking around at other Murphy’s Law auctions for this record, even the black vinyl standard pressing is going for about the same price.

ML $/t Test Press.
The nice thing about seller’s like adambombx79 who post up records with high BIN’s instead of just doing a low started auction with a reserve, is that I can completely forget I drafted up their record for posting on a Test Press Tuesday for an entire week, come back the next TPT, and still have it sitting there waiting for some Murphy’s Law loving money bags to snatch it up…
Murphy’s Law, free with a subscription to Thrasher
I can’t say for sure whether or not joexstrummer got his copy of the self titled Murphy’s Law LP when he subscribed to Thrasher, but I know that’s where I got mine. It’s crazy to think this goes all the way back to the January 1987 issue. Scary, actually.
And zaldiva has a nice copy of that January 87 issue for sale as well.
Don’t believe me? Here’s the page with the ad!
Say Cheese! Bad Brains Cro-Mags DRI Murphy’s Law promo pics
Seems like earwax666hotmail has quite a collection of 80′s and 90′s promo photos to unload. Everything from Slayer to MC Hammer. But these 2 lots might be more up your alley. I’ve had quite a few sweet promo photos in my collection, with grand plans to do something cool with them. I never do. I think that Cro-Mags one would look awesome in your office cubicle.

I GOT THE BONG!
The first hardcore show I ever saw was Murphy’s Law headlining at the ‘old’ Living Room in Providence. It was a Sunday afternoon in the summer of 1989 and I took the bus from Woonsocket to Providence with 2 other friends who had been to a couple of punk shows already. I had grown up a ‘Head Banger’ and had recently discovered ‘punk’ so I was terrified and had no idea what to expect.
Local band The Wurst was first and I remeber it being the first of many times that I saw Rob Phelps with his huge head of liberty spikes. The 2nd band was Low Meato and all I remember about them was that they had a song that used the riff from Paraniod by Sabbath.
My the time Murphy’s Law started I had ended up right front and center at the stage. At some point I was pushed on to the stage but was content with sitting there, until one of the boucners decided I needed to move and with assistance from him and Jimmy G I made my first (un-intentional) stage dive! If I remember right I fell like a rock through the crowd to the floor, but the minute I landed and people helped me up I realized it wasnt that bad… Hell, I even liked it a little!
I still have the ‘Back with a Bong’ shirt that I bought at that show and a pair of official ‘Dougie Beans signature drum sticks’ that I picked up off the floor. Its been a long road, but I’m still grateful to my friends for taking me to that show and many more that followed!
America Rules!
You didn’t think we were going to let the 4th of July slip by without posting a couple of Murphy’s Law items, did you? That’d be ridiculous. You must be hitting that bong pretty hard if you thought that. Here you go. America Rules!
Clear vinyl, most widely pressed.

Clear vinyl with promo labels (white, not black). Pretty cool.

Back With A Test Press.
I’d like to hear some more from seller destroy_records about this one… a black vinyl copy of Back With A Bong is rare enough, but where did the test press come from? There’s paragraph after paragraph of rainbow colored info, yet no explanation!
Special Green Vinyl Edition! Arf!
If you went for brooklynseller’s Murphy’s Law auctions for the s/t on black and Back With A Bong on clear yesterday, you might be interested in getting yourself a green vinyl copy of the s/t to go with them, and lucky for you there’s a couple available from both cody0341 and groovedog-records:
Arf Arf Arf.
A pair of Murphy’s Law lp’s here from brooklynseller, and I seem to recall Cooch once saying something about the black vinyl actually being the rarer version of these, and they sure do turn up WAY less than the green copies. So what I’m saying is, even if you already have this on green, you should be trying to get your hands on the s/t up for sale here. Not that Back With A Bong on clear shouldn’t be in your NYHC collection, tho the question is, does this copy come with the old order form for plastic beer mugs and ML mesh hats?
The Big Three.
I remember being at the Cro-mags show at the WWE venue The World with Porter when Sick Of It All went on stage and gave thanks to the Godfathers of NYHC: Cro-mags, Murphy’s Law, and Agnostic Front. So that’s why I’m putting these three records from his collection that xbestoneyetx is selling together:
That WWE World gig was actually a really great show. Ratbones was launching himself off monitors and chicken fighting in the pit. Def was a great SOIA set, arguably better than the ‘mags that night in fact (and I do mean arguably, because it’s an argument I’ve actually had).
Does anyone collect cassettes anymore?
Ahh the poor cassette. It seems that she has gone the way of the BetaMax and VHS. Hopefully a few of you still have a tape deck in your car and can give these a good home.
Hatebreed “Under The Knife” demo

Sick Of It All “Just Look Around” cassette

Youth Of Today “CCME” cassette

Biohazard demo(with a song called “Master Race”) Yikes.

WarZone cassette

Murphy’s Law tape

Maximum Penalty demo

Early Morning BIN’s. And I Mean EARLY.
A trio of BIN’s from oldskoolgrindtool78 at 3am to end my day, and to start off yours (I’m an insomniac, what do you want from me). 2 are very reasonable, and one is kind of hilarious/ridiculous.
Both of these aren’t the rarest ever, but they are nicely BIN’d at $14, which makes them a good buy. But this Suicidal Tendencies “Possessed To Skate” e.p. with it’s $50 BIN and $35 starting bid is whack, especially once you read the description…
UP FOR AUCTION STARTING FOR LOW (ed.- Low?) IS A RARE COPY OF SUICIDAL TENDENCIES POSSESSED TO SKATE EP 1987 CAROL 1453 – JACKET HAS BEND MARKS IN THE FRONT AND BACK,,,, LUCKILY THE RECORD WASNT IN THERE. LOOKS LIKE THE JACKET WAS SAT ON ON A COUCH. VINYL IS VERY NICE NO NOTICABLE SCRATCHES.
Sooooo the sleeve looks like it was sat on, but it’s going up for the “low” start price of $35? Did I mention that $35 is what the last 3 copies of this have gone for, give or take 5 bucks in both directions? So yeah. “Low”. Or as I spell it, “LOL”.
one more for the MURPHYS LAW collection…
bperecords has a record that wasnt included in Morgados Murphy’s Law collection so snap this one up and you’re one step closer to complete! And if you find a Monster Mash CD for sale let me know how much because I’m curious what they are worth!
Build Your Own Murphy’s Law Collection:
If you play your cards right, life_as_one can provide you with a Murphys Law collection with 4 easy bids…
Ok so maybe winning 4 auctions with one bid apiece isn’t all that easy. But still, should you win, you’ll have every good ML song on vinyl. As well as about 97% of Best of Times (the missing percentage is Beer Bath, which is a great fn’ mosh part).
