Rain On Test Press Tuesday.

Nice to hear from str8t8 again, though I don’t know how he’s gonna meet his goal of also getting listed on TTD and Absurd Noize if he keeps sticking with his vinyl. Not that I’m complaining mind you, because he once again has a bunch of good stuff up, including one that’s perfect for Test Press Tuesday:

I really loved this record at the time (I didn’t have my own copy, but DFJ had a record player with a cassette deck, so he put it on tape for me when it came out and walked around my campus just rewinding it over and over), but I’m not so sure it held up as well as it could have. If it had been put out with the rejected cover he includes with test press, I don’t think I’d even be considering re-listening to it to see if it held up, quite frankly. The actual cover pretty much just screams hardcore, and when I look at it, it makes me want to put the record on and see if I still want to sing along and stage dive to it; a race car driver… not so much.

Knife Fight

I know Jaybil-san thinks I am gearing up to buy some big ticket platter, but in reality I’m just using the money to pay off my credit card bill. Please buy.

I remember one year cc and I rolled to Philly to go to Pointless Fest, and we drove down the night before and stayed over at My War HQ in Malvern, PA. We got to the house really late, and Mr. Summers had left an envelope taped to his front door containing X DIRECTIONS TO HIPPIE FEST X (but replace the X’s with swastikas) and two copies of this record. Supposedly they were an unintentional mispress, and no one has really ever come up with a solid pressing number, but it’s somewhere between 80 and 100 and they were only given out to friends. I happened upon an extra copy a couple years ago and decided to cut it loose, so let my loss be your gain.

PS this record still rips and is one of the best “82 core” releases of the past 10 years.

Ending soon – My War Records

chypie1002 has a couple of gems from the 2000′s ending soon for a cheap price. Scoop them up before people realize that these records rule and the prices go up. Some of these have no bids with less than a day to go

First up Shark Attacks – Feeding Frenzy Demo 7″. One of my favorite bands to see in the 2000s. First band I saw that covered antidote. It seemed before that cover that no one really was into Antidote but after that it was everyones favorite early NYHC 7″. So you can probably thank them for the super high record price on that. I really wish this band had put out another record.
Only 300 pressed on My War records. Not only were there not too many pressed, you were also lucky if you got your order from My War. Matt Summers rules and it a good dude but his mailorder skills wernt always up to par. I fell victim to not getting my order for this ep. Then a few months later I ran into him at a gig and reminded him and got the ep shortly after :)

Next up is a couple of eps both on My War records by the Snobs. Skate punk by little kids from TX. Saw them once at a posinumbers. They toured with their parents in a winnebago which is pretty cool. I bought some eps and shirts from their parents in said winnebago. After they broke up, some broke edge, some did not, at least one member went on to become a rally car driver

Schools Out Lets Skate ep

Blood In The Water And We’re On The Attack!

edit: I’m a bonehead, by first and second pressing he means the first and second pressings of the B9 version, not the My War pressing and the first B9 pressing. It’s clear as day in the description and pic, I just screwed up. Whoops!

Seller delapasion continues bringing the 00s awesome with both the My War AND the Bridge 9 pressings of the Shark Attack “Blood In The Water” seven inch.

Standhard’s XMulletX.com review of this record was so great. I distinctly remember it referencing Outburst, back before almost everything referenced Outburst.

(In a fun bit of coincidence, my girlfriend is watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer season 6 on Netflix as I write this, and the episode that’s on features a shark man trying to collect on a bet. He’s a loan shark.)

Shark Attack Feeding Frenzy demo/ep

A one time pressing of the “feeding Frenzy” demo on vinyl. Im a huge Shark Attack fan. Great tunes. Sometimes though you had to be lucky to get your mailorder from My War. I was not so lucky at the time. I paid for the release to Summers in person at a show and he promised to send it out that week. A couple months passed and nothing. I saw Summers and his girlfriend at that time and asked him about it and he apologized. Then Michelle promised she would have it out in the mail that week and lo and behold I got it. I was psyched. Good record
