NECROS x 2

I went to the Tesco Vee book reading/Q&A session in Providence this past Saturday. The friend I planned on going with couldnt make it so I almost didnt go, but decided to make the drive at the last minute and I’m REALLY glad I did. He had a slideshow of pictures (mostly from the book) and talked about the zine for over an hour then took questions and told stories about his fights with Ian McKaye (they are friends again), Henry Rollins (they are still not really friends) & Glenn Danzig (he said Glenn turned into an asshole in 1985). After the talk he sold & signed books and I picked up a copy of ‘Why Be Something That You’re Not’ and a copy of the Touch & Go collection which I got signed by Tesco & John Brannon who was also there! Very cool day and it got me even more interested in rediscovering some of the old Touch and Go stuff.

I wont be starting a collection anytime soon, but the music is really fucking great! Heres a couple of different presses of the 2nd 7″ from the Necros

state-children has a copy with green labels and the lyric sheet and t-shirt flyer are included!

madtownrecords has a copy with white labels and no inserts.

Buy Low, Sell High?

A few more from Vegas resident lionhearted75, and he must have lost a bundle at the craps tables or something, because he’s got a lot of high ticket items, saddled with high start prices. I figure he’s using the same thought process as with his YDL and Trip 6 demos, and is trying to simply make sure he gets back what he put in (as further evidence of this, the Bertmer print he’s selling initially sold for $75, which is his start price).

I get the logic, yet I can’t stop myself from saying it,… a low start price and a reserve are probably a better gamble.

Seller creeper_ohio is opening up the heavy artillery on the ‘bay…

It’s kinda crazy this record has come up twice this year, considering there are only 100 copies out there. This one’s nice too, complete with insert and looking VERY crisp in condition. So either get that credit card ready, or just sit back with some popcorn and watch the action unfold.

Dirty Tony’s Dirty Auctions.

Seller drtytony has a lot of auctions ending over the weekend, and while the start bids are higher than I’d like, several of them are lots, so it’s actually worth checking out.

He also has some high priced items that actually have bids, namely a stickerless first press of Damaged, and Poison Idea’s Pick Your King…

The $75 Necros Conquest For Death record, however, remains unbid on.

click 3 times to increase the coolness of your record collection

I heard that last week at Tesco Vee’s Hate Police were playing somewhere in New York and Steve from The Fix was there and the Hate Police did Fix songs with him singing. Also heard it was one of the hardest things ever and that if you missed it you suck royal balls from shitdom, but Paul Bearer said that.

These records dont have anything to do with that, but they are bands that are just as classic as the Fix or the Meatmen!

Negative Approach and Necros and Crossed Out and…

Seller djprana2003 has had some awesome stuff up for nearly a week, yet somehow we’ve slept on all of it. What’s up with that? How do we miss a guy selling stuff like this:

Sure, we’ve had first presses of this up before. But to me, it never gets old, and you know there’s always somebody looking for one.

Or what about this?

Before anyone mentions it, yes, that IS a first press label with a third press insert, and while that may seem fishy, according to the comments here, that type of mismatch is relatively common. The Sex Drive he has up is a boot, however.

And what about these?

I could keep going. And that’s not even mentioning the Oasis and Ice Cube records…

My excuse for slacking? Hardcore Fests. They really do screw up your concept of time and reality.

NECROS – Sex Drive 7″ orig

Another big-money rarity hits the ebay machine. I always thought this record sucked, but since there are only 100 pressed and its Touch & Go #1, it’s been a top collector scum item since the mid 80s.

This one’s cool because it has the rejected sleeve as well as the regular sleeve, and includes the poster insert.
