Nerve Agents White Owl on pink

ryanb714 has a BIN up on my favorite Revelation Records release. Blasphemy? I don’t care. I love everything about this record from the artwork to the vinyl color to the piano intro and outro.
Bonus points are awarded for the Oxymoron 7″ in the background.

Are YOU ready to die?

handsomephantom has up one of my favorite Rev releases. Not as much a favorite as Days Of The White Owl, but the S/T Nerve Agents is up there. Its better than anything else they were doing at the time.
I really wish i could have seen them play in SF but i was limited to the East Coast shows they did. The first time i saw them was in Chicago at the Fireside Bowl and the last time was in a garage in NJ where i only caught the last 30 seconds of their set then went to see the Cro Mags the same night.

There are only 222 on green vinyl so bid heavy and drop that $10 on an awesome record.

One Stop Shopping – The Nerve Agents

Seller punk_n_disorderly24 has a bit of a bargain going on right now. It’s one big old lot full of Nerve Agent goodies. You get the 1998 self titled LP on grey vinyl (limited to 222), the 2002 Final Press of the self titled LP on grey vinyl (limited to 407). You also get the Days Of The White Owl LP from 2000 on pink vinyl (limited to 338). And finally, the Mankind Records split EP with Kill Your Idols on clear green vinyl. That’s one stop shopping for the goods (minus the Butterfly Collection of 2001 from Hellcat Records … Did this even come on vinyl??). The buy it now is pretty reasonable and with free shipping from the UK, you could scoop a bargain. Have at it.

And if you just want the one LP on grey vinyl, go hit up thevonroyale. He ALSO has free shipping. Or is this the guy Cooch hates?? Continue reading »

Redemption 87.

Seller mazzo29 has pretty much filled up the next day or two for me, with lots of great records up, including this one from a band I’m bummed I never got to see…

Aspiring layout designers take note, THIS is how a good hardcore live shot layout should be:

None of that blurry, light showy, can’t tell what’s what crap here, just straight up hardcore live shots to go with a straight up hardcore record. Started by members of Unit Pride, Token Entry, and Skankin’ Pickle (!), Redemption 87 was the West Coast’s shot in the late 90s war against Victory Style metalcore, and they were a good one. Rare was the show where I didn’t see a R87 shirt, and I was on the East Coast. Plus R87 were the band that got a lot of the kids who came up in the late 90s (including myself) into Antidote by covering Something Must Be Done in a time when you had to know someone with a dub of a dub of the 7 inch to have heard them. I’ll always thank them for that.

(Random memory: I remember having an issue of Extent Fanzine advertising an R87 7″ with the next issue, I always wondered what happened with that.)

I will be doing these posts occasonally. Helping to remind you of those Rev releases you still need to fill the holes in your Kev Finn-esq collection. Plus Im interested to see how much some of these go for

I still remember the first time I heard the Nerve Agents. It was during the 1998 Rev summer tour with IME,battery, speak, and Better than a G. I forgot whose house we were chilling at but I remember talking to the host about how much I loved Redemption 87. He said he had a tape of a new band that was gonn be on Rev and he made me a dub on the spot. I was psyched. I ended up actually seeing them play a few days later in Cali. Good time. Im into both these records
