I was never really that into much industrial or goth music, but I did get sucked into the early Marilyn Manson records. It was partially the music, partially the visual, partially the serial killer aspect… it was kind of a full package that got old after the first few records.
I got to see them at Club Baby Head in 1994 and then again at The Strand in 1996 and they were both great shows. I also still put some of the older stuff once in awhile.
This is a reissue of the Portrait of an American Family LP that comes with a T-shirt. I’m sure it was done as some kind of ‘limited edition’ that they made WAY to many of so its still available. Its a lot cheaper than tracking down an original press which is nice.

I’m a big fan of this record, I think that ‘Smells Like Children’ is a great super creepy name for a record and it fit Marilyn Manson perfectly in 1996. Its also got some great remixes and an awesome cover of Patty Smiths ‘Rock N Roll N***er’.
