Red Alert

Red Alert was an Oi! band that most Oi! fans either loved or hated. This 7″ is an original press on No Future records from 1982, and is going for less than $10 with not much time left. firebythesea78 has a bargain on his hands.

More Templars, since the last post went so well

Here is another Templars record. This one sold by tilbury*trojan and limited to only 500 copies on this orange vinyl. I couldn’t put it any better than this:

Comes with 2 Templar stickers & limited edition pin commemorating 20 years of Oi Oi mayhem.

Are there better lyrics than Brown Paper Bag?

There is only a few hours left on this durtymickstore auction of The Bruisers American Night 7″. Check out these autographs on the back cover as well. This is clearly a unique item, and not your typical 7″. Even if it was just a plain old American Night 7″, I’d have expected it to go for more than this. It’s really hard to put a price on autographs and personalizations like this one.

An American Skinhead’s Chung King equivalent

It looks like surf80 is selling a real gem, and their is only a day left on it. Skinheads will never be known as the upper echelon of record collectors, but for those that do collect, they go after this. Well as far as American bands go anyway. And 7″s.

Limited to only 444, blank labels, wide hole.

Am I too late for Test Press Tuesday?

That’s too bad. I have just stumbled upon this lovely BLITZ Moscow/Propaganda test being sold by multichamp123. Supposedly only 2 of these exist which makes the $199 BIN quite appealing. If I am correct this is the last one of the REAL Blitz records before half of the band quit and the other half turned into a horrible new wave moany rubbish. I wish I could UNlisten that outrageous Telecommunication record… ugh..
This one on the other hand is packed with two classic street anthems that for some reason aren’t as popular as the songs from first three 7″s. Weird because these are great. Have I had the spare $200 I would be buying this instead of writing about it. Oh well… can’t have them all.

Levis Jeans, Doc Marten Boots and a #1 Crop

Im sure theres not many people who read this site who are big Oi collectors. If you are then you should be stoked about this. It doesn’t pop up often but the first Templars EP tends to fetch a few dollars when it appears. They hadn’t quite found their style yet (or knew what size clothes to buy) but they were on target with the music. 4 bangers on here including arguably their best song “War On The Streets”. You’ve got to hang it to a band who sounds the same now as they did on their first EP 20 years prior and hasnt lost their edge.
The label who put this out, Sonic Aggression is also responsible for some of the other best early 90′s Oi, including the Pist N Broke 7″ and the Patriot 7″. Pretty good track record.

gernblandsten is selling this for a member of Oxblood, so it has a pretty good Oi pedigree going for it.

US of Oi! BIN

Seller surf80 brings us a nice copy of the classic US of Oi! comp on Link Records, at a pretty decent BIN price. If you’re a NYHC completist, this comp has a weird one-off recording of WarZone’s classic “Don’t Forget The Struggle”, which doesn’t sync with any other recordings I’ve ever heard of this song. If there’s more from this session I’d love to hear it, as I think this version trumps the LP recording. The rest of this comp ain’t too bad either, classic tracks from The Uprise, Anti-Heros, YDL amongst others.

TPT – Boston vs Atlanta Oi

Man the streetpunk scene was HUGE in the late 90s. It pretty much peaked in 1998 right around the time of this record. The Anti Heros hadnt been broken up by Condemned 84 yet and Dropkick still had Mike singing and hadn’t put out an album yet. I always preferred the Anti Heros half of this with two of my favorite songs from them on it. I think the pressing info is a bit of a clusterfuck since its a double 7″ and colors got mixed up and what not, but necroscollector has here a test press out of 6. TKO Records knocked it out of the park with this one.

BLITZ All Out Party Pack!

This is a Blitz starter kit if I’ve ever seen one. johnniec68 is giving you 4 12″s in one go. You’ve got Voice of A Generation which is chocked full of classics, the New Age 12″ which is a total banger and has an equally awesome B side featuring some great piano work. Then if you want to get crazy like you’re at Goth night at the club theres the Second Empire Justice LP, and lastly the weird Killing Dream LP which does have a few good songs on it despite featuring a drum machine and multiple instrumentals.

RIP Nidge

Oi! – The Starter Kit

Ever wanted to get into Oi but you didnt know where to start? You tried looking at the B9 Oi thread but everyone just told you to listen to some dumb white power bands who aren’t even Oi. Well heres a good way to check out the classics and weed out the undesirables. All the early Oi comps in one lot by johnniec68. Oi The Album and Strength Thru Oi are the two best here, but you cant go wrong with the others either. The shipping is a little high but it is 6 LPs.
Funny sidenote about the cover of Strength Thru Oi – Thats Nicky Crane on the cover, he was head of “Skrewdriver Security”. He was also secretly gay the whole time and later came out of the closet and died of AIDS. I say its a funny sidenote because I dont give a fuck if a Nazi dies.

Cock Sparrer – We Love You dutch p/s

They were already a band for 5 years at this point, but this is only Cock Sparrer’s second single from 1977 (their first also being from 1977). A Rolling Stones cover for a single and a B side thats a far better song, kind of a weird look. Theres 4 different picture sleeves for this single. The Dutch one offered here from renew1379 seems to be the 2nd most common. Thats not saying its easy to find because ive only seen 4 come up for sale in the past 5 years. The Italian sleeve is way rarer and the French sleeve seems to be the hardest thing on earth to find. I only HEARD a rumor of one once in 15 years ive been looking for it. If you have one let me know and you will be handsomely rewarded.

UK Punk Sunday – The Violators singles x2

Its Punk Sunday here and im just listening to old UK punk records at home so thats what im going to post.

These are two of my favorite releases on No Future Records and vinalfetish has them both up at a super cheap price right now. I actually dont know much about The Violators, I’ve never seen a video of them playing or saw an old flyer for them playing a show. They put out two singles and an LP on No Future and thats about the extent of my knowledge. Summer of 81 is far better than Gangland but i dig both. Just look at that mix of skins, herberts, clockwork droogs and punks. Thats some real unity that youve only seen on an AF shirt before.

If youre really feeling frisky elnekron99 has an overpriced test pressing of The Violators only LP “Die With Dignity”. Stick with the singles for now.

US of Warzone

Our old pal surf80 has one of my favorite comps up right now. US of Oi is half really awesome and half terrible. The awesome half kicks off with Warzone doing a different verison of DFTS from the LP. Theres also my two favorite Anti Heros songs and two amazing songs from the Uprise (who have an unreleased LP which is also awesome). The YDL songs on here are just the same songs that are on the 7″. It goes downhill from there with The Bootboys, Immoral Discipline and Kicker Boys doing some of the worst songs ever set to vinyl. I would still pick this us regardless of the shit fest that is half the comp.

Cock Sparrer first LP

You know they had a record before Shock Troops right? It was reissued in the 80s as True Grit, but the OG was on Decca and only issued in Spain. The band had no clue it came out either and weren’t all that happy about it. There are two versions, one with white labels that was a promo edition and this blue label one which was available for sale. Ive NEVER seen a copy in the condition this is in. You have to be wary of bootlegs but this one is legit from the looks of it. 7777mike7777 says he got it when it came out. Pretty cool.

Fuck The 90′s, Here’s Blacklisted

After Blacklisted sold all of those Beat Goes On lps and broke up a few times, we made these limited covers for Heavier Than Heaven. We got asked by Jim Grimes to play the Burning Fight show in Chicago with Unbroken, Trial, 108, etc and as a bit of a joke I decided to make these covers at literally the last second.
The night before we left i got the idea for the cover and since my records were 5 states away, I got ahold of my friend Tad of DC fame to scan the cover of the best punk record of the 90′s, Oxymoron “Fuck The Nineties, Here’s Our Noize” for me. The covers got made at a Kinkos in Chicago right before the show and spray glued on the sidewalk outside. I think theres actually more than 30 of these (maybe closer to the 40 range? I didnt keep track), plus i have some unused covers sitting at my desk somewhere.
Anyway heres one of them from fate_just_missed. The rarest version of Heavier Than Heaven besides the test pressing.
