Holy Gold Vinyl, Batman!

Lets start with a piece of advice: if you aren’t a big dog, stay away from this auction. This one is certain to POW WHAM a wallet. No doubt. gouge_away is sitting on a GOLD mine. This ep has some stellar tracks, from WarZone to Supertouch to probably the BEST Bold track. EVER. There are 400 of these on orange vinyl, and “a number of these” came with batman or superman stamps. No idea how man “a number of these” is, of course. Anyone got a Superman stamp? I’d love to see it.

The price of ‘gold’ keeps rising

Our old friend vitaminhedgehog is back with more Revelation rarities that y’all can’t get enough of. First up, a copy of the ‘Together’ 7″ on ‘gold’ vinyl, which opens at $599.99, or which you can BIN for $699.99. As we know, only Tre would refer to this as ‘gold’, the rest of the world would call it ‘orange’… although obviously Tre would just say that he’s correct because he’s quoting the Rev discography, which also refers to this ‘orange’ as ‘gold’ and just adds to the confusion.

Next up, another in the same series of confusing colors, a ‘gold’ vinyl copy of the Warzone 7″, set at the same opening bid and BIN prices. Interestingly though, the Rev discography refers to this record as ‘orange’, even though it’s on the same ‘gold’ as ‘orange’ ‘Together’ comp. Confused yet? Yeah, me too. Anyway, the last one of these sold on ebay for $567 just recently, so an extra $32 probably won’t seem too bad for someone. But you might still get outbid. So maybe if you’re feeling super wealthy then you could end the bidding and bag this with a BIN. Who knows, if you don’t pick this one up then you could be waiting a few months for another chance.

Only 4 hours left on these two ‘final pressings’ that Rev released circa 2001. I remember that when these things came out it seemed vinyl really was on it’s last legs. I guess Rev never figured that ten years later they could easily press hundreds more of these things to a new market. And since this year saw a post final press of the Youth Of Today 7″, I could imagine further pressings of both of these things could follow at some point. And if it happens, and history is anything to go by, then no doubt everyone will be trying to buy up ten copies so that in ten year’s time they can punt them on ebay for $300 each.

everythingmust321go looks set to do well from their current batch of auctions. Will be interesting to see how much these two go for given recent insane prices on these particular pressings:

Ordinarily, we’d just wait til Test Press Tuesday to bring you this one from absolutemadness, but this here is the thing: absolutemadness is actually my friend Corey, who you might know better as the singer of Internal Affairs, and the guitar player of Carry On. And he’s being forced to sell these 3 records from the repressing of the Carry On lp because some piece of dick stole his car. NOT COOL. So now he’s going to have to start auctioning things off to try and get money for a new one. Yeah, given the situation,Test Press Tuesday is just gonna have to wait while we help my bro out. Besides, you know you love Carry On, and you know you hate thieves…

Warzone On Orange.

It didn’t take long for the action to start up on aapjekoala’s Lower East Side Crew on orange vinyl to kick up, as we went from $1.00 to over $100 in a day. The reserve hasn’t been hit yet, and based on that BIN there’s gonna be a ways to go before it gets there…

Cooch posted a nice pair of Warzone records yesterday, but I’m afraid zero.street had to come along and trump him. Both sellers have DFTS, DFTS, so that ones a draw, but I’d call the version of LESC shown here a trump card…

If I thought for a second this one would have gone under the radar, believe me, you wouldn’t even be seeing it right now. And an eight cent starting bid too (10am edit- in the 12 hours since I drafted this, it has now been bid on and rocketed to $40.99)? This is what torture feels like.

I’m gonna do one last post from xscottbeuryx’s auctions today, but I assure you: it’s a great one.

Told you it was great. So one of these is just a plain old Bringin’ It Down and there’s no Chung King, I don’t give a hoot. Judge = one of the GOAT Straight Edge bands, and it would be well worth your time to try and acquire these for your collection if you don’t have them already. But I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know.

I don’t know what’s been up with this week, but we’ve certainly got some slack to pick up. So hopefully this batch of colored vinyl from lionhearted75 helps kick things back up a notch…

I might go for that Murphys Law lp; I sold all my ML records off a few years back and have been wanting to replace them pretty badly. I’d also go for the Last Resort on red, but it’s starting bid is a little too high for my taste.

vinylmanianycpart2 has a cute little pumpkin shaped orange vinyl 7″ (maybe its an 8″ or 9″) called “Horror Rock Classics”. Its in a clear sleeve with the name & info printed on it and the center label has a jack-o-lantern face on it.

Other than the visual the seller doesnt offer much info, but I was able to find out that its from Rhino records and its these 4 songs…
1. ADDAMS FAMILY THEME – FIENDS
2. OUT OF LIMITS – THE CHALLENGERS
3. HAUNTED HOUSE – JUMPIN GENE SIMMONS
4. PURPLE PEOPLE EATER – SHEB WOOLEY

Another classic Rev release in Frankfurt, Germany but if you win it you can have it wherever you live insted!

Unfortunatly I only have a black vinyl copy of this, but I really do like the orange. I’m kind of surprised that it hasnt sold for more in the past and I’m curious to see where this one goes. Perhaps the recession can be your friend and you can score this cheap….. but then again, Judge might be recession proof!
