Damn, earlier this week, we saw a Bad Brains Pay To Cum EP with a picture sleeve. They don’t pop up a lot. And that one is pretty beat. But the price is crazy. And then, BAM, what77fuk comes at us with this EP and picture sleeve. Damn. This one is gonna get hectic. Lets do it.

Ok, so I don’t think this youtube video of Charlie Brown and co dancing to the Bad Brain’s Pay To Cum is anywhere near as funny as all the people posting it and reposting it on Facebook seem to, but given that mrep put up an original (albeit slightly beat up) copy of the Pay To Cum 7 inch up for auction yesterday, it seemed appropriate to include it.

I dunno, it’s cute and all but I’m not real life lol’ing with Christmas glee over it or anything. Maybe Jah stole my sense of humor?

Pay To Cough.

Seller xundergroundx is back, this time with a Misfits Cough/Cool 7 inch to go with his re-upped copy of Pay To Cum.

As noted last week in the comments, this was revealed to be 2nd press the first time it was listed (this is actually the third). Our commenter had speculated that the bad pic was a deliberate attempt to confuse it with a first press, but since the seller openly admits his Cough/Cool sleeve is home made, I’m sure it was just a case of a plain old bad pic. Though that admission makes me not so sure a $500 start price for the C/C is the way to go…

Seller xundergroundx doesn’t have a lot of auctions right now, in fact there are only 2. And ordinarily, I’d say one of them being an original Pay To Cum 7 inch means that he doesn’t really need to have much else…

…but that pic is so crappy, I’m quite frankly not positive if those are white labels with brown ink or tan labels with red ink (which is the 2nd press). Cooch is pretty sure it’s first, but the whole thing just looks orange to me. Not that a 2nd press is anything to sneeze at or anything. Still, I’d take him up on his offer to answer any questions and get it made clear before I made a bid.

Yowza! Looks like we have a little fund raising drive going on over at xuttermoshx, and Aram has decided to cut loose a HUGE one from his collection…

As mentioned in the auction, has anyone ever actually seen a test press of Pay To Cum? It’s possible they weren’t made, and these reference acetates were used instead, which would indeed make this the crown jewel of your Bad Brains collection. I remember one of these being sold back in the early days of ebay (early 2000′s or so) and it went for a fraction of the price of a current Pay To Cum with sleeve, so it’s possible that there is more than one out there, unless this one came full circle and is the same copy. But based on lineage/provenance mention in the auction description, I don’t think it’s the same copy. So at most, there could be two copies out there, but I doubt you’re ever going to see one again, so if your cheddar is stacked high enough you might want to drop a serious bid here.

When it comes to OLD hardcore records that are not Slapshot or Slapshot related my top wish list is 1st press Teen Idles, 1st press Minor Threat, 1st press Negative Approach, 1st press Misfits ‘Bullet’, 1st press Black Flag ‘Nervous Breakdown’ & a 1st press Bad Brains ‘Pay to Cum’. Now I REALLY want a Pay to Cum with a picture sleeve, but since I will probably never have any in my daydream I will settle for a plain sleeve one.

This one is a bonus because even though its not a picture sleeve it is signed by Dr. Know, HR & Darryl. Its got a lot of writing on it, but it looks like only those 3 guys put a signature on it. If any of you guys want to show your appreciation for all my posts you can buy this for me, or even just donate to the cause and I’ll buy it myself! : )

Bad Brains pencil case & Pay to Cum 7″

what tutone has here is a Bad Brains pencil case. Its the kind thats made to be put in a 3 ring binder so you can have all your pens & pencils in the same place as your loose leaf paper!

He says that he got this as a promo in a record store in the early 1990s. I think that I’ve seen this same item as part of a Bad Brains press kit/tour book. It was actually a binder with a band bio, photo, discography & tour info with the pencil case in the binder, but I guess its possible that they made Bad Brains pencil cases more than once too!

And since this is VINYL Noize, not School Supply Noize, here is a copy of the Pay to Cum 7″ from 1966session

The Boston Crew Mystery Seller who played for an Boston band in the 80′s and sang backing vocals on the Last Rights 7″ is clearing out his collection and I can’t imagine this isnt one of the gems!

He says to watch his other auctions and that he will be posting more. I cant wait to see what else he posts up!!!
