Tags Matching: Pungent Stench

Pungent Stench is from Austria and is generally classified as a death metal band, but they do have some rock & blues influence in some songs. Most of the lyrics are dark, sexual, silly & over the top like your standard death metal bands.

The thing that made Pungent Stench stand out more times than not were their LP covers the most eye catching of wich was 1992′s ‘Been Caught Buttering’ on Nuclear Blast Records. I always thought that the cover art was 2 severed heads set up to look like they were kissing, but the truth is that its actually ONE head thats been cut in 1/2, set up and photographed by Joel-Peter Witkin. Joel-Peter is an American photographer who specializes in some pretty crazy stuff! I’m not sure if he has a photo book out or not, but it would make an amazing conversation starter as a coffee table book!
