Baroness Red Album test pressing

The first time i heard The Red Album I wasn’t sure what to think. It kind of annoyed me, i felt like the songs were boring and went on too long. Shawn and George used to play this all the time on Blacklisted tours. Like every day. After a while it started to grow on me. The same cant be said for Torche though after hearing that every day too.
Anyway we got to play with these guys once in Boise Idaho randomly right after this came out and it was one of the most intense 45 minutes of riffage I’ve ever seen. It reminded me of watching Graham from Annihilation Time play, just riffs from another planet.
_fate_just_missed has the test pressing of The Red Album, which only 7 were made of. Its the Hyperrealist pressing which pre-dates the Relapse Pressing

He also has up the first pressing on Hyperrealist on double red vinyl. Its still sealed which while cool doesn’t show off the awesome laser etchings around the edges of the vinyl.

Get It Quick!

While some people love this Pushead cover I never really cared for it.   Compared to the cover of The Kids Will Have Their Say its really nothing much to look at.    I feel like Pushead phoned this one in much like the cover of St Anger.   The reverse holds true of the vinyl though.   One of the best pieces of Boston sXe ever layed to vinyl.   Seller vinyljunkie1620 is offering a copy thats in great shape at a still affordable price, though its ending pretty soon.   If you for some reason are an edgeman without this record you need to do yourself a favor and pick this up,  and its a copy still in its home state.  Buy local.

The lyric sheet is cool as fuck though!

The Damage Of Days.

Couple more records from seller thedanceofdays, and both of these are great ones. Alas, both have some minor sleeve damage at the top edges…

For better pics of the damage, check out the auctions; he’s got everything well documented with close ups.

SSD GIA BIN

One more BIN from krypt-of-cool

I haven’t been in search of a copy of this LP in ages, so I’m not sure if $100 is a “good” price or not, but the free shipping is a nice incentive and perhaps you could combine a couple issues of Nude Rebels or Ass Backwards to your purchase to get your money’s worth.

Comps From Zero.Street.

Yesterday was when I first started seeing auctions pop up from zero.street, including the ones for the two Pushead related comps shown below. I uploaded those and a couple others from his 2 pages of auctions to do posts on, then went on my merry way. About 6 hours later, while browsing around eBay for more stuff to post, I spotted another comp of interest, this one the Life Is Ugly… comp, which features among others the Descendents and the Minutemen. Wondering how I’d missed it before, I clicked view other auctions, and low and behold the number of auctions had skyrocketed, with the number of pages tripling to 6 in as many hours! So expect lots of goodies this week, as there’s tons of awesome records, all with ten day auctions, which gives us plenty of time to show them off to you.

Vinyl Swag.

Another one from state-children, and while I still haven’t gotten around to listening to Septic Death (I know, I know) man do I love Pushead’s art work. And this auction for the Daymare/Crocodile Tears double single is full of it.

All that plus green and yellow vinyl, and a signed, hand numbered sleeve (out of 100). To borrow a phrase from used over at TTD… SWAG.

Pusmort sampler

A classic from xcactusdavex

I remember when I first got into record collecting, anything Pushead related was next to impossible to get your hands on. This comp, and the first two Septic Death 7″s were early top wants of mine, and I probably ended up trading away some cool records to get them. These days you can find them all over the place on ebay, and it seems like they’ve lost their charm a little. This is still a great comp though, with some of the best thrash hardcore bands of the day, and this was also my introduction to Japanese hardcore (via the Outo and SOB tracks on the flexi).
