Rare Soundgarden Fopp EP (SubPop 1988) Double 12″ Acetate

ryebread is selling a rare 12″ acetate of Soudgarden’s EP Fopp. Fopp was originally released in 1988 on Subpop and was limited to 3000 copies. It features 2 covers (Fopp/Ohio Player, Swallow My Pride/Green River) one Soundgarden original Kingdom of Come and a remix of Fopp. The asking price for these acetates is quite steep. But when you consider how rare it is to find one you might want to crack open the PayPal account. I just got a copy of Fopp still in the shrink from Long In The Tooth Records in Philadelphia.

Quicksand, Rival Schools & Walter Schreifels what else could you need?

xbmkusyx has a great collection of records for sale.

This is a great Quicksand promo single from their first album Slip. I hated that the vinyl for this record was so thin. But still a great 7″ to own. It features Dine Alone and Can Opener.

Walter’s latest solo album on black out a 100 on 180 gram vinyl. Some great cover songs on this album.

This 7″ was released for the album Manic Compression, it features Divorce and Voice Killer. Strangely enough it is also on a really thin record.

This Rival Schools record is from the first printing back in 2001, still a classic. Everytime I listen to this it brings back memories of seeing them at Maxwells in Hoboken.

Pennyroyal Tea

I really dont know why this Nirvana EP is so rare, but I remember there being HUGE hype about it back when it came out. I was working at the Newbury Comics Warehouse and there was a huge buzz about this Nirvana CD that was coming in and was SUPER rare. I was able to scoop one up and held on to it for quite awhile then eBayed it for about $300. I later heard that the one that I had was a bootleg, but I dont know how someone would know that or if it was true.

The seller is giving quite a bit if info so if you know the details then you can tell if this is the real deal or not and maybe fill me in on what it all means. The acoustic version of Pennyroyal Tea is actually one of my favorite Nirvana songs.

Quantity CD (slimline) Single
Geffen GED 21907 1994.04/03
Tracks pennyroyal tea (scott litt mix) / i hate myself and want to die / where did you sleep last night (unplugged)
SONOPRESS I-2211/GED21907 A 2
This version has no IFPI code.

Petitioning Jane Doe….Limited Edition Converge LP’S

The the_underdog is unloading a couple rare releases from Deathwish. These Converge records were originally released by EVR, but have long been out of print. Deathwish reissued these a few years back and they sold like hot cakes. These particular ones are rare and hard to find. I wonder how the seller got them?

Chain Crew #23

Get ready for heads to explode. Our good buddy Tre is dropping a big gun. This would be the Chain Of Strength Chain Crew EP. It feels like we haven’t seen one of these on ebay in a long time. It may have been years … This one is pretty dope. It’s one of the few numbered 23. You know how it goes. Tim loves Michael Jordan. Limited to 100, a few were numbered 23. This one is going to require kicking back with popcorn.

Tidbit: did you notice it’s the same picture as the Circle Storm LP Morgado posted earlier? Don’t believe me? Check again.

You Fail Me … Whoa

Holy shit, xuttermoshx is bringing out some rare guns. This You Fail Me Converge LP is flipping rare. This one is limited to just 4 copies. That’s right FOUR. If I had to guess, I would say, pressing mix up, as the red/black vinyl was supposed to be striped. You can see that here (ltd to 642, dope). The regular press of this white/clear vinyl has a cross of white, instead of a stripe of white. And actually, one lp has 3 arms instead of 4. I’d guess Tre has that one squirreled away, though.

Go ahead and pony up for this one. All money goes towards putting out more vinyl on React Records. That’s something worth supporting. Of course, you have to be a big dog to get in on the bidding at this point … Check out the current price. Wow.

And after you finish reviewing the pressing of this lp, grab some Deathwish Inc releases. It’s a smart move.

TEMPLE OF THE DOG

With the reuniting of Soundgarden people have been flooding Ebay with all kinds of Soundgarden related merchandise. I do own this record I bought it probably 4 years back and let me say I had a real hard time finding it. But now you can find these popping up all over. I’m not sure how limited the pressing is because at the time of its release vinyl was on it’s way out. I did not even realize that they made different colored versions of this record. I find it really strange that it’s always someone from Brazil that is selling this record. Did A&M only sell these records in Brazil? Anyway you know the deal Soundgarden/Pearl Jam collaboration it’s awesome give it a spin.

records I dont know anything about

Once again buttonbilly has some impressive records for sale.

I will be totally honest about these 3 records. I dont know anything about them, but they seemed like they could be gems to someone and based on the little bit of research I did, they are relivent and desirable records.

1. Mad Virgins. chaotic punk rock. From Belgium. Put out this one record in 1977. Later changed their name to Mad V and played T-Rex inspired powerpop.

2. Hitler SS and Tampax split 7″. Put out by Compact Cassette Records out of Italy in 1979.

3. Puke, Spit & Guts ‘Eat Hot Lead’ LP. 1980 Important Records. Considered to be the pinnacle of the biker punk subgenre. Members include Dr.Worm, Marie Manslaughter, Dick Head & Stuicide. The first show of the west coast Teen Idols show was opening for Punk, Spit & Guts along with The Mentors.

Screaming For A Change

How many times have you uttered “Screaming for A Change” only to have a friend rudely remind you that there is “NO A?”

It’s happened to me a few times. Cough … Sweet Pete … Cough.

Regardless. everyone loves this album. Spaudling didn’t over play it and ruin it for everyone else. And as long as you move the needle off the player before the poem hits, you are golden.

Wishingwell colored vinyl is hard to come by. I’ve never owned any. Not even an Insted LP on white. I’d love to own some UC on colored vinyl. Maybe one day.
