We Are The One

I love coming across Dangerhouse releases. They always seemed so unattainable to me. I remember when I was digging hard for a record collection, these releases were way out of my league, basically untouchable. Of course, ebay was still in it’s infancy. Now you can find these releases popping up every so often. Like this second press Avengers EP from gutquatsch. This one has the target cover and is on great red vinyl. Keep in mind, this EP is nearly 35 years old. Crazy. Listen and learn.

Billingsgate – No Apologies

Here’s one thing I never got about Billingsgate. How did they release their LP on Nemesis Records? Their first EP dropped in 1990 on Victory Records. It was VR002. Way, way back. They were both from Chicago, it makes sense. But the LP was released on a California label just a year later. What happened that they didn’t release the LP on Victory?? I’m sure Tony didn’t have ridiculous contracts 20 years ago, but it’s still hard to figure out. Anyone know?

Grab this one from xrevolutionaryx. Red vinyl, very nice. And if you are looking for MP3s, you can always check out our buddy Keith’s blog. Shout outs to Alert.

SSD BIN

No this is not a bootleg though it may look like one. One time press of 200 on red wax. Is this the most rare SSD record? Even though this is from rock era SSD its still pretty cool to have in your collection. I picked this up while on tour with floorpunch this past January at a small record shop. It was the first time I ever saw one in person. They just dont pop up that often. Get yours with a BIN from mistertee33

VinylNoize PSA

Incase you dont check the REVHQ website regularly you might miss these. There has been a lot of talk of the RSD releases but not much of these new Rev color releases that slipped a bit under the radar. Click on the pics to buy direct from Rev.
Youth of Today CCME – red wax

Youth of Today CCME – purple marble wax

Mouthpiece Discog – Green wax

Anyone know what was up with that Yellow Wax version of YOT CCME 12″ that was on ebay a bunch last year??? I cant find any pressing info on that

UC – Screaming For Change

Is there anything more tasty than colored vinyl from Wishingwell Records? Probably not. Well, maybe if Schism Records had pressed color vinyl … This Uniform Choice lp is a great one. xuttermoshx claims it is out of 100, but I always found that number hard to believe. This second press has FOUR different color variations. Would WW just press 400 for a second press? Seems weird, especially considering how LARGE most pressings were. It’s rare, but I don’t know if 100 is right. What do you think? Has an official number ever come out? Can we get DCXX on this one?

Four Hundred Dollars

Suppose you had $400 burning a hole in your paypal account. Which would you rather buy? This ill Minor Threat EP on red wax from trout2323, or this weirdo lot?

The Outspoken LPS are worth $200 each, right? Right? Right, right? There is an Insted LP on red vinyl in that mix, but $400 for the lot? I think the answer is obvious here.

Body Count – Born Dead – Red Vinyl

It isn’t often you see hip hop vinyl that’s not set up as 12″ singles. And even less often is hip hop vinyl on color vinyl (again, that is not a 12″ single). Everyone likes color vinyl singles in the club, something about it works in that setting. But this is the full length from Body Count. Born Dead. Straight out of 1994. This one is a UK pressing of the Virgin Records/ Rhyme Syndicate Management album. Great red color. Well worth the spins. And as of now, it’s super cheap. Get on this one now from oathrecs, as it ends soon.

Fruitpunch

statement-of-pride must have racked up a ton of xmas bills and is trying to raise up a ton of money to get the credit card companies off his back with all the stuff hes selling. This Floorpunch record is a little off though. 200 pressed on red wax but this one has a 3rd press cover with green writing instead of the correct 1st/2nd press cover with blue writing. Also the number on the sticker also looks like it bled out. Maybe the original cover got wet and messed up the number? Id say ask for clearer pics and ask questions before bidding. Maybe you can cop a deal though?

Rev Collection – the Movielife

I dont think I have ever heard this band. The only thing I know about them is one time my friend pooped on the ground behind a VFW hall during a show and then rubbed his own poop on his shirt and then went stagediving during the Movielife’s set. Pretty good gag.
Two copies of this from recordgraveyard and dieselboy
One is a BIN and the other is a cheap auction with no bids

Rev Collection – Slipknot on red

vinyl-pops says “s/t EP 7″ (sometimes referred to as the “Let It Show” 7″).” Is that true? Ive never heard it called that. The starting price is probably a little high but whatever. PLug those holes in your rev collection

Youth Of Today BDTW on Red … AGAIN

Ok, come on. seen this year. This is probably the 50th Break Down The Walls on red vinyl we’ve seen this year. Ok, maybe not 50, but likely the 10th. And oddly, we haven’t seen a lot of the Wishingwell Records on blue … hmmm. But I’m guessing recordgraveyard purchased one we’ve seen this year and is just flipping it now. Likely, he’s trying to score a pre Christmas buy … Melissa, if you are reading this, I want some quality polo shirts not this. But anyone else, feel free to snag this one for me.

Alert Demo 2008

What do you know about Alert? Here’s what I know. Mike Puffer is a dude. So is Keith Freeman. Those dudes are positive straight edge. Seriously, almost too positive. Nah, just kidding. Great dudes. Puffer is also a vegan. What gives? Vegan Straight Edge? Dude’s an anachronism. I can hang. He also has been posting up for us on skatenoize.com. I highly suggest checking out what he has to say. LOTS of good stuff. Some funny quips too. And if you came for vinyl, well, adamlpetty has what you need (only has one feedback, mind you). Here you’ll get the limited edition 2008 demo pressed on red wax. Limited to 100, this one is #85. I’m fairly positive this was printed up for a fest or a release gig, but I can’t exactly recall which. This one is cheap and ending soon, better snatch it up. I expect big things from this band. Big things.

Quality of Life

infamoussidewinder gives us another Murphys Law sleeper hit. Sure this record isnt collectable at all. There are 3000 on red wax with silkscreen covers. I cant say ive atually listened to the LES Stitches side and probably never will. But the ML side is a pretty good jam. Especially for later era ML! If you havent heard this yet then you owe it to yourself to at least pick it up and give it a quick spin.

Why Am I The One To Blame?

When people mention NYHC, a few bands come to mind immediately. For me, I think The Cro-Mags, Bad Brains and of course, Agnostic Front. I’m sure Cooch would think about some KBD band that I have never heard of and Casali would probably just start talking about EPMD. Because that’s what Casali does.

AF IS New York Hardcore and Victim In Pain firmly cemented Agnostic Front as the face and voice of the “NYHC brand.” Blind Justice, Last Warning, Society Sucker, Your Mistake … classic riff after brutal mosh after great anthem. Every song is a winner. Great tracks. And very appropriate for the early 80s New York punk rock scene.

Now the cover on the other hand, has been deemed inappropriate by many. The original artwork features a mass grave at a Nazi Concentration Camp. Yes it’s extreme, yes it makes a point. 2 years after Rat Cage released the original record, Combat Core mixed it up and went with a plain black sleeve. 25 years later, Bridge9 Records would do something similar.

Below, you can see the progression over time. From the most sought after original release to the current B9 release. Whichever one you pick up, you can’t really go wrong.

Bane United Blood 2010

Oh man.

When Bane played United Blood Fest earlier this year, I moshed my ass off. I headwalked from one side of the stage back to the other side. TWICE. It was phenomenal. It was killer …

It never happened.

Yeah. Bane didn’t play United Blood Fest. I doubt any of the members of Bane were even in the state. But that didn’t stop Sam Triple B from making up some covers and selling a limited edition. Can’t knock that hustle. Now go see what Marcus of Endless Quest Records had to say about it.
