The Carrier Calling It Quits Has A Silver Lining

The Carrier is calling it quits. Bad news for fans of the band. Good news for fans of grilled cheese sandwiches … It’s also “good” for fans of Down To Nothing and test presses. brodyxsteinhardt needs loot. Plenty of it. He is planning on coming from Australia for the final Carrier gig. That’s not cheap. So he’s selling some gems. Like these All My Sons test presses from Reaper Records. Rejected and accepted. Chances of coming across these again? Low. Well, pretty low. They are limited to 20…

Club Lido. Ugh.

xWFTFx – Pay For Crap Test Press

Oh man. The insert to this test press is possibly one of the best ever. As far as rejected test presses go, this is one of my favorites. Grab this gem from brodyxsteinhardt who also has a slew more test presses up now. He’s pulling together some loot for a big trip so hook him up.

Rotting Out Rejected Test Press for TPTh

Lets start Test Press Thursday with a trifecta from Rotting Out. First. Rejected test press. It even has the old name of the label (it’s now World Won’t Listen). Second. Rip off cover. Shout outs to the Germs. Third. Rotting Out rips. The Fear cover doesn’t hurt either. Did Suicide File ever record their cover? I can’t recall. Grab this one from bishamma. Do yourself a favor and go pick up Street Prowl.

Tre / Emil / Damages / Rejected Damages

In the previous Damages test pressing post today me and Tre had a gentleman’s disagreement if the similarity to Deadguy in the Damages EP on React! Records is a positive thing. Well, there is no accounting for taste, and just like our two different opinions there happens to also be two different test pressings of that 7″. Here the same seller incorrectthoughts (Allentown, PA…is this Double Decker??) is also offering the rejected version. Check it out, I don’t know what was wrong with it, but here it is, unloved and weeded out, just like Deadguy is to Tre, so sad, so sad. Deadguy would dig it.

WFTF – Pay For Crap

Here’s a good one. The second picture pretty much sums it all up, but here’s the breakdown. What Feeds The Fire released an EP on Anchor Records called Set Me Free. Before there was React Records, Aram did Anchor Records. You know Aram. Aram rules. This particular EP was a freakin headache from the get go. This rejected test press is one of those headaches. Pops, skips, … headaches. You can #8 of 8 from deathwishinc.

Test Press Tuesday: Alone In A Crowd

Looks like our friend deathwishinc is back with a few more EPs for you all. Mostly, he’s got the letter L (you know, left for dead, lion of judah, last lights, …). But he also has this excellent A auction. And not only one, but two test press from Alone In A Crowd, released a few years back on Al Contrast’s record label, Contrast Records, duh. Both are #4/15. Consider it a complete set, right? Awesome, awesome items. Plus, Tre is a sweetheart. He’s donating 10% of the sales to the MSPCA. Next time you see Tre, give him a big old hug. He’s a teddy bear.

Right Idea

I don’t know who csunate is, but dude is bringing some fire. If I didn’t know Jay Jacoby’s ebay name, I would think it was him. Then I’d remember he would NEVER unload his Right Idea gear.

What we have here are TWO different rejected test presses. That’s right. TWO rejected test presses. You can imagine getting the Right Idea lp pressed was something of a headache. If you pre-ordered, I’m sure you recall that headache. Thankfully, Aram kept all of us up to date on the trials and tribulations of this lp.

The final product is ill. And that’s what counts.

Also, lets talk about Jeff Hess’s collection. Dude collects Varsity Jackets. How cool is that? I gotta step up my game there. I don’t mind an old hand me down varsity jacket. Good look. Hard to compete with a dude who has the OG Smorgasbord Jacket and that Youth Of Today – Free At Last jacket. Real, real hard.

Guns Up Rejected Test Press

I know we’ve seen test presses for this album on ebay before.

BUT

Never before have we seen the REJECTED test presses. In fact, I wasn’t even aware there were rejected test presses. Seller has lots of great info (of course, he’s a head). And this one seems to be coming straight from Riley’s collection. To yours?

Dan Doyle would support. Do your job, pick this one up. Guns Up. Mosh.

SNUFF

Snuff is totally underrated and so is this record. Not only is this a test press of the ‘Reach’ LP from 1992, but its a rejected test press and 1 of only 5 in existance. 3 went to the band, 1 to the label and the last one to this seller.

This is a REJECTED test press that went through some pretty major changes before the final LP was pressed. They remixed the record and removed a song before it went to press.

Someone buy this and give it a happt home!!
