Time for another War Zone 7″, and i feel like this one has been posted before. handsomephantom maybe relisted or maybe i just posted a similar one, who knows. It doesn’t matter what pressing of this record it is, theyre all good and you need to own it.
Well hello Mr. Blandsten, what do you have for us here? Oh look, it’s those elusive Side By Side stickers that I love to rant about. Like with the Warzone sticker, I can’t wait to see if this sells for an assload of money. Morbid curiosity I suppose.
handsomephantom has up one of my favorite Rev releases. Not as much a favorite as Days Of The White Owl, but the S/T Nerve Agents is up there. Its better than anything else they were doing at the time.
I really wish i could have seen them play in SF but i was limited to the East Coast shows they did. The first time i saw them was in Chicago at the Fireside Bowl and the last time was in a garage in NJ where i only caught the last 30 seconds of their set then went to see the Cro Mags the same night.
There are only 222 on green vinyl so bid heavy and drop that $10 on an awesome record.
Alot of auctions from incorrectthoughts lately. This time its a Rev #2 on orange vinyl. Not to be confused with the gold vinyl. This is ORANGE. Its got some battle scars on the back cover and what looks like some coffee stains on the insert, but its got Youth of Today on it so bid hard.
One thing thats always bothered me about this record is the paper thin cover and super thick insert. I feel like its a cover wear disaster waiting to happen.
I must have missed this color of the Judge Discography when it came out. Apparently handsomephantom didn’t. Maybe he is getting rid of it because it is literally the worst looking colored vinyl I have ever seen in my life? I hope so. Holy crap. I can’t believe how terrible this looks. Porcell must have picked this, there’s no way Mike would allow this. Amirite?
I always feel bad for this Side By Side 7″ when it pops up on the eBay. It never really goes for much, and that just kind of bums me out. This is a great fucking record. I know it’s 2nd press, and there’s 2000 of them, but still. Make this record feel a little better about itself, and bid. Please? I am sure that handsomephantom would also appreciate it. I know it’s no GB on green, or Warzone on clear. But give it the love and respect that it deserves!
Seller bellelameg has a semi obscure gem for us. The Make It Work 7″ comp features the first released Youth Of Today songs (the songs on CT Fun were recorded first but didnt come out first). The tracks were later remixed and included on the Rev reissue of Cant Close My Eyes. Around 350 were pressed, 200 came with the zine and 150 with a sleeve. Given how old it is im sure its hard to still find one with the zine. Alas this copy doesnt have one with it. But yo for real, how good is Take A Stand?
Yeah know, when I sold my first press Side By Side 7″ I didn’t even get a measly 30 bucks for it. But check out Mr. thedanceofdays over here, already over $50. All because of that stupid sticker. You know it’s just a stupid photocopy on stupid sticker paper right?? It’s not like you’re actually going to stick it on something, like your locker, or your notebook.
Buying this is usually worth it for the Youth of Today track alone. But i’m interested in what kind of reserve aapjekoala has on this thing. If its anything like his other auctions then hes probably not making a sale. Not to someone in the US at least.
If you were thinking about getting the Warzone on orange Morgado posted last week but the 600 BIN scared you off before the auction ended early, then my boy thedanceofdays is giving you another chance. Dont pose.
Whats the coolest looking piece of colored vinyl you own? It doesnt look as cool as this. This GB 7″ on green marble from aapjekoala is one of the cooler looking ones I’ve seen too. It looks like a piece of polished marble taken from the floor of a Roman villa. Another Revelation mystery pressing that nobody knows the amount pressed, but given its rarity I would guess its somewhere in the 300 range. The starting bid is pretty high but if you feel like being a baller then this is for you.
Only a few hours left on this one from handsomephantom. Ghost written by Walter this is basically GB lp #2 (to me at least). I love this album. Any guesses how many are on blue? The Rev pressing info doesnt give much info.
…and I don’t plan on starting now. But Emil said I should give this record “some love” here on VN. So I am obliging him. “Come on man, you should check it out, it’s actually pretty good, it’s like, Mike Judge doing Neil Young, but like… good.” Look, I got nothing against Neil Young, I don’t think I do at least. And truth be told, I do listen to plenty of chilled out folky stuff these days. But I have to defer back to the judgement of the 21 year old me here, and just say no. Hey, maybe you dig on this, or maybe you are a Rev completist. If you feel it, you feel it. Apparently handsomephantom felt it at one point.
rock4light has a few good picks up right now. Starting with the game changer that is the GB lp on purple. Ive never actually owned one of these and i can remember thinking $75 was too much for one 13 years ago. Guess I should have jumped at the chance back then.
Theres also a mis-titled copy of the 7″. Does this mean you will get it for cheap? Probably not, but it sure doesnt help his auction that the main photo is the BACK cover and its actually a 1st press not a 2nd press.
And finally an addendum to the post i made last week about the Vision LP, heres the very hard to find purple version. He calls it the tour press, which ive never heard before but it could very well be.
Here’s a lil tidbit of info on this 7″ here being sold by firebythesea78, it’s actually out of print for probably the first time since it came out (give or take a couple months in ’95.) Sure, it’s just plain black vinyl, and the pressing info hasn’t been updated since 2002, but you can’t get this new no more. I know that’s not really a big deal, as there’s tons of records that are out of print. But Rev’s kept this one around for all these years, and it’s been a solid classic. But it’s gone now. Sad face. Nope, can’t just stroll down to your local record store and pick this up, or order from your favorite online distro. Well, that might not be true, they might still have some old stock… Regardless, you ought to email Rev, and tell em to get off their lazy asses and repress this classic!!!
