Strife Sound And Fury 2010 EP

Honestly, I’m surprised it took this long for one of these to pop up on ebay. I wonder how andrewbaker123 held out so long. It’s been almost two weeks since this dropped.

Regardless, this EP came out pretty dope. The boys of Strife really should get a pat on the back for this one. Lots of love went into it. You can read Andrew Kline’s full description over on Tradition Shop Blog. He gives the full description on the Eyeone redesign. Kudos to those boys …

If you don’t fee like spending the loot on this record on ebay, keep your eyes peeled on this blog going forward. You may see an interesting contest or two coming your way …

Sound And Fury: That Didn’t Take Long

Well, that didn’t take long. I was actually going to start a pool to see what day the first sound and fury merch would go up. Honestly, I would have guessed Sunday. Maybe a few slipped through, but Tuesday it was. Let’s see what chimpz619 couldn’t wait to flip.

First up is a Touche Amore / La Dispute split EP. Limited to 75, numbered 54. “Never played” Duh.

Next up is another Touche Amore split. This one with Make Do And Mend. Honestly, I like the other package better …

Finally, the Rival Mob demo EP on orange. This one burns me up. Go read the description then come back… Welcome back.

Dude does NOT mention the obvious. Maybe he closed his eyes?? He also took a shitty picture. If he took 4 more seconds with this vinyl, he would have realized there is a BAT stamp on the plain white label. Making this demo look like a whole other EP. Dude is really blowing it … I grabbed one of these for a friend. I haven’t sent it yet. I’ll probably have to mark up the cost before shipping … I kid!

Much love to Joey and Ray for an excellent gig. Best dudes. I’m already planning my trip for next year. This time I think I’ll fly a non stop flight and maybe roll out a day or two earlier. Get some vegan grub in LA. Continue reading »

Have Heart & Sound And Fury

I loved Have Heart. Such an excellent band. I know I’m not in the minority on this one. Songs To Scream At The Sun was an album that dropped to very mixed reactions. Some hate, some admiration. I was always a fan. It didn’t hurt that when I attended the record release, Pat Flynn handed me a copy of the LP. He gave me a friends only copy. Said I should have one because “I gave them their first web site.” Well, honestly, I just hosted it on howsyouredge.com (new makeover), I didn’t really have anything to do with designing it. I think that was all Charles Make Or Break over at Get Outta Town Records. But it’s all good. I gladly accepted it and stashed it away. Now I wouldn’t mind getting the rest of the copies. I’m mostly out of the vinyl collecting game EXCEPT a few items here and there. This piece from Sound And Fury Fest would be a nice addition. We’ll see what other gems the fest has to offer in just a few days. Get psyched!

From Anger And Rage: Part SAF

Earlier today, Josh posted a few examples of the From Anger And Rage LP by Verse (the seller must be liquidating his Verse collection). When this album dropped, the Rhode Island straight edge rose up. For many years, Rhode Island straight edge was sans champion. Verse filled this gap. Of course, those dudes all broke edge. What’s that saying about knights falling off horses? Fitting here.

But this album is pretty cool. A second press created for the 2007 Sound And Fury Fest. I can guess why they chose to use a “$” here, even if it isn’t related to money. I’m pretty positive Todd, Riley and Bob never made a cent on those gigs. If they had, they wouldn’t be working full time jobs like the rest of us slobs.

A Lie Is A Lie Is A Lie Is A Lie

I hate lies. Yes, yes, I do. I hate lies and that’s why I hate alabamergency… I don’t mind embellishment, and I don’t mind some tall tales, but this dudes starts off with a blatant ripper. What you are bidding on is the OUT OF PRINT copy of the 2×7″ comp that accompanied the At Both Ends zine from late 2009. Yeah, this isn’t out of print at all. In fact, you can still order the zine EP combo. That’s right. You can still get it. And if you buy it now, you can enter to win a test press. That’s pretty fucking cool, if you ask me.

It doesn’t hurt that this zine was put out by a good dude, Stevie Fallis. #1 fellow right there. I haven’t seen him in a bit, but I’m hoping when I hit up Sound And Fury Fest that he’ll be there. And if/when he does pop up at this fest, I’m sure he’ll have a stack you can buy directly from him. I know Bane still has a few even if Stevie doesn’t make it. So you should be able to pick up a few at the fest regardless.

Oh man, I’m picturing a lot of cool hang outs at this fest. Soooooo good.
