Hardware Noize.

Only a couple hours left for you to snatch up this zine lots being auctioned off by mikeylizard, both featuring what was possibly the best zine of the 90s, Hardware Fanzine (yes, I slept on posting this, and now rather than a massive screed on Hardware, you get this brief “it was awesome” post. Sorry). Also included in the second lot are a Schism reprint and the 4th issue of Tension Building, which is the issue that featured the comp 7 inch that debuted Floorpunch’s “Always”, but alas, the record is not included.

Wide Awake Wednesday

I am sure I could have used the search feature to see if there has been a Wide Awake Wednesday before. But I was too lazy. So I am just going to say that this is the first official Wide Awake Wednesday. I can do that, I have been here almost a month. And it’s about time! We’ve posted some of handsomephantom‘s auctions before, and if he keeps posting up the goods, I am sure we will continue. First pressing of this Schism CTHC classic. White labels and all.

B9 PX

Bridge 9 has done some pretty awesome reissues over the last few years. It was cool to be able to get the Antidote 7″ on vinyl without spending a ton of cash and the reissues of the AF United Blood 7″ and the Victim in Pain LP were awesome, but the Project X 7″ reissue was my favorite.

The preorder package came with a white vinyl 7″, a book of stuff out of old Schism fanzines and a cool reprint Schism shirt! The books and 7″s came with matching numbers but
redscrollstore is selling only the 7″ in this aution. Its #217 of 500 and even though there was a 2nd press this is the only way to get a numbered white vinyl copy. Unless you have an OG Schism press this is your best bet. Much better to support a lable doing the right thing than buy a crappy bootleg!

What’s Simple Is True.

Seller garygggg has a pair of original classic Straight Edge ep’s up that prove the old adages “what’s simple is true” and “keep it simple, stupid” are, well… true.

You’d be hard pressed to call either Project X or Crippled Youth masterpieces from a musical theory standpoint, or say that the songs on them are difficult to learn. Hell, I can play these songs, or at least Straight Edge Revenge. But every track on these is a Straight Edge classic that’s impossible to keep out of your head, and stand head and shoulders above later, more technical Edge records that upped the militancy along with the skill level.

(It actually occurs to me that “What’s simple is true” may be a Jewel song, not an old saying. Whoops.)

Wide Awake.

So Brian apparently wants us to make the nick name Uncle Tre happen for our old buddy Tre. Personally, I prefer calling him old buddy Tre. Or Moneybags. But hey, what’s in a name, right? What matters is that he’s always bringing the auction goods. We’ve been going through his collection for awhile now, and it looks like we may be nearing the end in the coming months; as you may have noticed when Brian posted his Warzone auctions, we’re now in the W’s. And if you’ve noticed that this is kind of a rambling intro, that’s because I’m writing this at 2AM and while my body is exhausted, my brain won’t stop, and so I’m still….

(Wait for it.)

WIDE AWAKE!

And let’s not forget about these two… it’s the demo! On a 7 inch!

Three For Three PM.

Seller adversewind brings us some records that no Edgeman’s collection is complete with out: one absolute classic, and two of the very best from the “second tier” of mid 80s Straight Edge bands, if you will pardon the term. Sadly, the condition of this Wishing Well version of Break Down The Walls is less than stellar…

SCHISM #8

Some cool zines up from Finnish legend vote-vasko, including the final issue of Schism

Supposedly True Till Death (the song, not the record) by Chain of Strength was written in response to the Al Barile/SSD interview contained herein, but who knows. I always got a chuckle out of them bashing Skrewdriver in the reviews section, but featuring their records in the collage on the front cover. And on that note, is there anything better than a good record collage? I think I have like 90 of the 104 pictured.

Hold True.

I wish seller grinchygrinlove had had this one going last week, when he was selling both the X Marks The Spot comp and the red label, photocopied cover version of this classic CT HardCore record…

(Were these photographed on plain white photocopier paper? Makes for a weird effect.)

Would have been perfect to do all 3 at once. Ah well. If I had been paying better attention, I could have just posted this copy from elsuprimo_records, as his is just coming down to the final day and a half.
