Fuck Philly

Until I stumbled across this auction listing from sidebofmywar (great name by the way!), I don’t think I had ever seen one of these before. This is the Shark Attack ‘Blood In The Water’ 7″ pressed by Bridge Nine Records with the ‘Fuck Philly’ stamp. According to the B9 discography, there were only 50 of these made. After seeing this, it’s slightly disappointing. I mean, the stamp hardly looks cool, but no doubt it will triple or quadruple the value of the thing. Anyway, can someone fill me in on the story behind this thing? Dave?

My War Records Presents:

Blood In The Water. But with the few hours remaining on this EP, it’s more like, “cool calm seas, mildly breezy, no clouds.” For real people. This Shark Attack EP is a must have. Get on it. Grab it from yo_baby_sup now.

Technically that’s the B9 repress above, but these next two are My War proper. This Knife Fight e.p. is a total keeper. West coast from the bowels of Jon Westbrook.

And of course we have the Snobs “Control” ep. 15 year old kids who skated and played early 80s style hc, whose dad drove them on tour? Radical.

Wait, how’d this one get in here??

The answer: Zach played in Shark Attack AND Knockdown. So I cheated. If there had been an Intention or Violent Minds record from this seller, it probably would have been snuck in too. I’m crafty like that.

Shark Attack

I love when this record pops up. Shark Attack is one of my favorite bands from the 2000s. I think their whole Discography holds up rather well today. I was lucky enough to snag it when it came out but I think it still goes for fairly cheap because there is no hype behind it. It was mailorder only and limited to 300 copies.
Seller is a stand up dude and no other than our very own Cooch -> chrismin. He doesnt get special treatment here he is just posting up a ton of nice shit right now :)

Ending soon – My War Records

chypie1002 has a couple of gems from the 2000′s ending soon for a cheap price. Scoop them up before people realize that these records rule and the prices go up. Some of these have no bids with less than a day to go

First up Shark Attacks – Feeding Frenzy Demo 7″. One of my favorite bands to see in the 2000s. First band I saw that covered antidote. It seemed before that cover that no one really was into Antidote but after that it was everyones favorite early NYHC 7″. So you can probably thank them for the super high record price on that. I really wish this band had put out another record.
Only 300 pressed on My War records. Not only were there not too many pressed, you were also lucky if you got your order from My War. Matt Summers rules and it a good dude but his mailorder skills wernt always up to par. I fell victim to not getting my order for this ep. Then a few months later I ran into him at a gig and reminded him and got the ep shortly after :)

Next up is a couple of eps both on My War records by the Snobs. Skate punk by little kids from TX. Saw them once at a posinumbers. They toured with their parents in a winnebago which is pretty cool. I bought some eps and shirts from their parents in said winnebago. After they broke up, some broke edge, some did not, at least one member went on to become a rally car driver

Some deeeeeeemos

More odds n ends from adversewind ending in a half day or so. Nothing much in common with any of these other than I really like all of them…

Shark Attack Blood In The Water demo – this is the tape version before they pressed it on vinyl, I think they made 200 or so of these. ’82-core at its finest. Dear Summers – please come out of retirement. K plz thx.

Men’s Interest demo – another fine Painkiller release, I think we made 250 of these. Shaun from Cold Sweat/Repercussions joins some Boston freaks to make some not-so-nice sounding HC.

Urban Blight demo – possibly my favorite band coming out of Canada at the moment, their recent vinyl output has been great.

No Tolerance demo – recorded one fine Edge Day afternoon before everyone went to Cabot’s for ice cream. Released by Painkiller on Edge Day Records, 250 made.

Viper Committing The Seven Deadly Sins tape – nasty hardcore out of Western Mass that sort of sounds like inept black metal meets Japanese noize core. Awesome tape, killer live band too!

Blood In The Water And We’re On The Attack!

edit: I’m a bonehead, by first and second pressing he means the first and second pressings of the B9 version, not the My War pressing and the first B9 pressing. It’s clear as day in the description and pic, I just screwed up. Whoops!

Seller delapasion continues bringing the 00s awesome with both the My War AND the Bridge 9 pressings of the Shark Attack “Blood In The Water” seven inch.

Standhard’s XMulletX.com review of this record was so great. I distinctly remember it referencing Outburst, back before almost everything referenced Outburst.

(In a fun bit of coincidence, my girlfriend is watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer season 6 on Netflix as I write this, and the episode that’s on features a shark man trying to collect on a bet. He’s a loan shark.)

Shark Attack Feeding Frenzy demo/ep

A one time pressing of the “feeding Frenzy” demo on vinyl. Im a huge Shark Attack fan. Great tunes. Sometimes though you had to be lucky to get your mailorder from My War. I was not so lucky at the time. I paid for the release to Summers in person at a show and he promised to send it out that week. A couple months passed and nothing. I saw Summers and his girlfriend at that time and asked him about it and he apologized. Then Michelle promised she would have it out in the mail that week and lo and behold I got it. I was psyched. Good record
