When I was a kid, my grandparents lived in Clovis, California. They spent a lot of time nearby in Fresno, obviously. Hanging around fig farms, looking for hares, mostly chilling at American Legion halls. It was what they did (and still do, but now in Maine). One summer, my family went to visit them out there. It was great. While my parents went with my uncle to some casinos, my brother and I spent a whole day with my grandparents. And it was awesome. You’re wondering what could two pre-teens do with grandparents all day that would be so much fun? Well, my grandmother gave my brother and I $20 each and let us loose in a Fresno, California arcade. I’m guessing it doesn’t exist anymore, but looking at the Oh Wow arcade location, it could have been that one. Of course, this would have been 20 years ago … No matter, we spent ALL DAY in that arcade. It was awesome. We spent every dollar in the following game, The Simpsons. Such a great game. So many moves, lots of combos, just a good time. I played as Homer, and my brother played as either Marge (vacuum smash!) or Bart. Great memories.
