Heavy on the Turning Point Talk for this Turning Point/No Escape Split

Lately here on Vinylnoize we have been covering a lot of colored vinyl that falls into the golden color range. I would love to switch it up but I wanted to post up prepareforbattle‘s copy of the Turning Point/No Escape Split.  New Jersey, the home state of both bands on this split, also brought forth the record label Temperance Records which put this 7″ out in 1991.  The gold colored vinyl of this release is limited to 200 but seems to pop up fairly often on ebay.

As far as the output on Turning Point’s half of this release it is either loved or hated. It is certainly a far stretch from The Few and The Proud but I feel that it can be appreciated in two different and separate lights.  Musically you can see the direction that Skip was headed towards and with his post-Turning Point bands Godspeed and Memorial Day there is a progression *or digression for those Youth Crew Purists* to more of a “rock” sound. Behind This Wall by Turning Point is one of the most revered song by  both Turning Point fans and the “fans” who weren’t able to dig deep enough to check out To Lose, Face Up, Never Again… This release although it is on gold doesn’t hold the same weight as a numbered /1000 two postered first 7″ for me.
