Who spent last night moshing to Verse? I did not, but I’d bet triplebrecords was in the house. I mean, he is the proud owner of a personalized Soul Control test press. This one is for the Rivalry Records release, numbered 12 out of 20. No bids, scoop it!

Soul Control Like Spiders Test Press

Soul Control had this cool concept: they’d take 4 EPs, release them on 4 labels and when you put all 4 covers together, you got one giant picture. Pretty cool layout concept. With this EP from i_always_bored, that’s sort of lost on you, in a way. This one is a test press. No sleeve. So you miss that cool layout bit BUT you do get a test press. Not bad. This one comes from TDB Records (Not TBD Records) and you can still grab one of the hazy black ones. Pretty cool. Don’t sleep.

SOUL CONTROL!

I think its awesome that a test pressing of a band from Providence, RI has ended up somewhere in Poland! Gotta love the hardcore community!

I’ll admit that I slept on Soul Control until Ben at Armageddon mentioned them. In my head I was thinking, Ben is talking about a band on Bridge 9, thats weird, but then I checked them out and it made sense. They dont really fit in with a lot of bands on Bridge 9, but the lable still works for them and thats cool. They bring a noisier, sound influenced by Helmet, Jesus Lizard, and Unsane to a roster of more straight ahead hardcore or post-hardcore bands.

Definitly a good band and if I hadnt slept on them for so long I would try and put together a collection.

Test Presses “Limited” to 40 …

Test presses limited to 40 .. what gives? How is that even considered a test pressing and not another weirdo press? Do pressing plants scratch their heads when people order something like that?

I’m a fan of Jim C and the whole Soul Control crew, and I’m sure this was out of their hands but WOW. Just wow.

With this being so limited, I wonder how squatell ever got his hands on one? ;)
