Seems like every few weeks theres another Straight Ahead 12″ listed by gernblandsten for Duane Some. He must have a box of them still sitting around. For this round there he broke out all the stops. 1st AND 2nd pressing AND the original handwritten artwork for the lyric sheet. I supposed it could be cooler if it was the artwork for the front or back cover of the 2nd pressing, but the lyric sheet is still pretty awesome. I personally am keeping my eye on this.

STRAIGHT AHEAD “BREAKAWAY” EP DJ Sleeve
Everyone, Everywhere take a look at this auction. Seller shane-sells is bringing to you today a first press of Straight Ahead – Breakaway EP. The first press of this EP comes with a simple dj sleeve with a small sticker with the band’s logo and out of 1000. 2nd and 3rd press have the cover with the lion on it, that has been bootlegged a million different times. The difference between the 2nd and 3rd press are the stamps on the vinyl, the second press is out of a 500 with the regular stamps and the 3rd press has inverted stamps and is out of an unknown number close to 500 because someone owed someone money. I forget exactly what the story is with the third pressing. Someone should fill me in. Check out the auction it ends in 3 days.
Sunday morning BIN’s
My trade pal Scott aka 23percent has a habit of listing cool records with very reasonable BIN prices, and he just threw up a new batch this morning. Looks like a couple things bit the dust already but there’s still a lot of great stuff and you can’t beat free shipping.
12 Hours Left To Get A “Private Release”.
I know what you’re thinking: while the End The Warzone comp is nowhere near as valuable a score as the Straight Ahead 12″, it’s no slouch, and sellers are willing to try for ridiculous BINs on it like the one we saw the other day, so why the discrepancy between the opening bids on locanda2 auctions? It’s a pretty simple answer that I think you can figure out on your own… “private release” is a pretty classy way of spelling it out, don’t you think?
Meanwhile, the legitimate record sits unbid upon as we get down into the final half day, due to the plus size starting bid…
Straight Ahead Sunday.
Seller hardcorex74 really killed it with the good stuff in the past 7 days, and Sunday is no exception. Straight Ahead first press on iRisk? Love it. I also love that he promises to auction off the 2nd press soon. I have one problem though…
This is some new york hardcore history documented on one piece of vinyl, Craig Ahead (SOIA’s bassist) on the mic.
That shit not pos.
Try, Try Again.
Seller truckfighter420 is nothing if not persistent. This is the 3rd time we’ve seen this Straight Ahead lp from him, and very likely the 2nd time for this bootleg United Blood ep.
It’s a different picture than last time, but the cover and vinyl look exactly the same. Given that that one sold for around 200 bucks, yet was not labeled a bootleg, could it be that this was returned? Judging from the feedback left by bpmbryan, it seems likely.
So bpmbryan, if you’re reading… we’d love to know what went down.
Promote Synergy.
Couple more BIN’s from welcometolud…
Would that the SA record was first press (ie the cover that S&T copied for this Posi Numbers press) as it would promote auction synergy, but quite frankly, that would be being greedy. As before, the BIN gets you free shipping, and the starting bids are $9.99 if you want to take a shot at winning it for less.
End The Warzone
I remember when I first got into record collecting, this record was legendarily unpossible to find. I remember around 1995, I traded a laser disc player for this comp and a Cocksparrer Shock Troops LP. Definitely one of the weirder trades I’ve ever made. At any rate, here’s a copy languishing away at 5 bucks in the tko_records store.
I know everyone wants this record for the Straight Ahead tracks (featuring 9 of the 12 cuts from their demo), but the Attitude Adjustment tracks are also really good, and I believe those are from their respective demo as well. The Larm and PHC tracks aren’t so hot, as both bands have far superior material on other releases.
First press here with blue labels, 2nd was red. Have at it while the havin’ is cheap
“I’m Craig Ahead, you can’t replace me.”
The other day Casali made a post over at www.TeeTillDeath.com about a Slapshot shirt being sold by truckfighter420. I have over 100 Slapshot shirts, but didnt have the one posted so I went to check it out and looked at his other auctions. Surprisingly he only has 4 items or sale. The Slapshot shirt, a Clutch shirt, a Slo Burn poster and this Straight Ahead LP. Sounds like the kind of deal where I almost with there was a ‘buy them all’ button!
Also check out this cool, but old (from 2002) interview with Craig Ahead where he says “I’m Craig Ahead, you can’t replace me. That was my band, I wrote all the songs.”, “I didn’t like being in Youth Of Today very much at the time. Because they were Look at me! Look at me!” and that of all the bands he’s been in the one he likes the most is Straight Ahead!

Classic NYHC.
Seller originalsehc only has two records up, but they’re classics. Absolute classics.
Not only do both these records have Armand in common, but if you’re a serious collector of NYHC, these are must haves. Obviously we’ve seen both of these up here before, but this is the first time I recall seeing the non-Lion sleeve version of SA, ie the first press. Which is kind of weird given that, as I understand it, there are equal amounts of both covers (1000 of the first press with the white sleeve, and 500 each of the 2nd and 3rd presses with the Lion sleeve). This is also notable as the version ripped off by Stop and Think for the Both Demos 12″, and I think NW also copied the lyric sheet for a tour pressing of their 7″. Why no one has done a rip off yet of the R.I.P. Nose guy, I have no idea. Dude is hard.
Too Rich For My (United) Blood.
As mentioned over on Tee Till Death, seller truckfighter420 has a couple great records up, but man… look at those starting bids!
Do those records go for that much? Sure thing. Sometimes more. But those starting bid prices might as well be BIN’s, and that’s probably gonna decrease the odds of them going for much higher. A better choice for the Straight Ahead collector would be this sealed 2nd press available from gernblandsten, who is selling a whole ton of records for Duane Some, of Some Records fame.
Oh, and as I understand it, the UB 7″ (which I’m surprised to see has a bid already) is a boot…
Coupla HC rippers…
This seller out in the midwest has some pretty cool shit for sale with cheap opening bids. Here are a couple hits…
First press (blue labels) copy of the End The Warzone comp 7″. Weird collection of bands here… obviously everyone wants this because it has 9/12ths of the Straight Ahead demo, but there are two really good Attitude Adjustment songs (taken from their demo) and a couple of ok Lärm tracks (one of Straight Ahead’s early influences, their songs all sound the same to me), and one throwaway live Pillsbury Hardcore track. I believe there are 1000 first press/500 second press copies (w/ red labels) of this record. I remember when I first found out about this record in the early 90s it was IMPOSSIBLE to find, nowadays it seems a bit more common. Thanks ebay.
Secondly… a first press copy of Infest’s debut ep. IMO, this is one of the most extreme hardcore records of the era, like a cross between Break Down The Walls and the Siege demo. And like YOT, this band set the stage for a million crappy imitators. There’s been a recent swell of unreleased Infest footage popping up on youtube, do yourself a favor and check it out.
1000 copies pressed, with double sided xerox covers and a legal-sized insert (as pictured). Beware of shoddy bootlegs!
STRAIGHT AHEAD “paper goods”
I have been LOL’ing all day just thinking about posting these. Possibly the dumbest HC artifacts ever listed on ebay, it blows my mind these were saved 20+ years ago. My theory is that Some Records didn’t have a garbage basket, so he just threw all the trash into a box and took it home each night. Unreal.
I walk straight ahead, I have something to give
Craig Ahead is one of my favorite people in hardcore. He plays for the best bands, hes a really nice guy and hes got that PMA!
This is the original ‘Some Records’ pressing of this amazing classic record and it was even originally purchased at the Some Records store! How can you beat that!?
Rest In Pieces
I picked up ‘Under My Skin’ on cassette in 1990 just because I liked the cover art. It was a very smart purchase. That record is great and so is this one!
