I’m not a big fan of tough guy hardcore, but gunpointevent is selling a 7″ that does fall into that category that I very much like – the debut 7″ from Sub Zero. This was released on Inner Journey Records, a label that put out a very small handful of releases way back circa 1991. When I was starting out I picked up all the label’s releases. They had good bands, and they were into record collecting. Each 7″ had two or three vinyl colors and each had a limited sleeve too based on comic book characters (the ‘Dark Knight’ version of this went for $363 last year!). Anyway, it took me many years to track a blue vinyl copy of this 7″ down for a decent price, but I was happy when I did eventually bag one. This one used to regularly go over $50, but this copy is currently sat at $10 with no bids, and with record store day just around the corner people may be saving their money for reissues, so perhaps this could be a potential bargain for someone…

Actually, while I’m at it, has anyone got the mp3s of this 7″ by any chance? If so drop me a comment.

Say what you want about their later material, but Boxed In is one hell of a jam. So hard, both Hatebreed and Terror have recorded versions of it. That song + Higher Power (see below) = genuine jams.
