X Swatch – Tick tock tick tock – Has the edge gone dull?

West coast seller 90feetofperfectionx brings us a different kind of ‘vinyl’ noize than we are used to seeing here. Is the band on this considered vinyl? These things are pretty timeless, like a good edge man, and are always pretty well sought after. I would love to grab one, but I’ve always kinda been of the opinion that if one isn’t handed down to me, then it’s not my time. I have the same opinion of varsity jackets.

THE TIME IS NOW

YOUTH OF TODAY Test Press Trio

Title got you excited? Well prepare to be let down.

Kyle Rivalry is selling test pressings of all three YOT 12″s. Unfortunately they’re the Euro pressings on We Bite. Now don’t get me wrong! A Youth Of Today test pressing is awesome no matter what version it is, but you can’t compare a We Bite test to a Wishingwell test.
These things seem to either be a dime a dozen or theres only a few of them and whoever buys them sells them again within a month of getting them because I swear they’re on ebay non stop.

The colorway on the cover of WNITA i think actually looks cooler than the US press.

REACT Records 2011 Box Set

One final one today from bread_bowl. This time its a fine release from a fine gentlemans label. The 2011 React Box Set, limited to 100 copies and sold at the React Showcase in CA. I personally like the lineup of this one more than the first one. Every band in here is a banger, most especially the underrated and underhyped Skin Like Iron. Seriously check them out if you havent already.
Im hoping this one shoots up in price for Matts sake because its a hell of a steal right now.

Your Expectations are too much

Since YOT has been playing shows again on the semi-reg, maybe handsomephantom can cash in on this second pressing of Can’t Close My Eyes. I can see from the picture it looks like someone had a little fun ala Cro Mags with the lyric sheet. Maybe it was Porcell or Ray? Euros take note, its a personalized copy!

…or this one on Black vinyl

Or maybe you wanna keep it cheap and just get this 2nd press on black from handsomephantom.

Go big or go home i say.

The Way It Is – Chilled

So check this out… not only does krewjones have a badass ebay user name, and claim to have had either a test press of this LP or some Warzone record (I can’t tell as the wording is unclear), but he also seems to be keeping his records in a refrigerator. At least, that’s how it looks to me from this picture.

It also looks like he doesn’t keep his records in the sleeve or keep the inserts in the sleeve or any of these things in a plastic cover. Maybe that’s why the booklet has a few creases?

If Youre Feeling Down, Focus On The Light

sixfeetunderrecords (thats me!) is selling a ton of stuff right now. I asked my buddy Tre to post these up on here but he has a grudge against Euros so im left to do it myself. When it comes to hardcore bands in Europe my top 3 is always going to be Dead Stop, Justice, and True Colors. I got to put out more True Colors records than both of the other bands and i wish i could have done more. I think they ended things too early but thats just me. They even had 2 successful tours of the US which is not easy to do for a Euro band.

Heres a one stop shopping trip for all things True Colors when it comes to US pressings.

This first pressing of Focus On The Light isnt on some cool vinyl color but it is out of print and a super solid record.

We put these white vinyl tour versions together in my apartment the night before the US tour started. Only 94 of them are around.

The rest of the white vinyl were sold with these awesome silkscreened covers made by the world famous Paul D’Elia. The Rush Of Hope in the photo is also for sale.

Rush Of Hope test pressing! I think this is the last one I have so bid hard.

Tre also has beef with tri color records. He doesnt like cool things. Personally i think this tri color ROH is awesome.

Heres the Sound and Fury cover for Consider It Done. True Colors didnt actually play the fest but we made a limited cover anyway. Thats what labels do at fests to make money. Still managed to sell all of them despite no band members in attendance.

This army green copy of Consider It Done sold out in the blink of an eye when preorders went up.

I also made a bonus 7″ sent out free with every preorder. Most of them were slipped into the CID 7″s but 75 came with this special last show cover Thing is they didnt make it to the last show. I had a standby ticket to fly over to Belgium and the plane was full :(

And heres the version that came with the preorders, same as the other one just sans cover.

And to close things out I’ll leave you with this video of True Colors live in Russia.

Youth Of Today WNITA acetates

I got alerted to this one this morning by my dude Geert. I think the seller, vitaminhedgehog, is the same guy in Japan who was selling the early Rev tests and other rare shit a while back. And when it comes to rare this is about as rare as it can get. A set of acetates for We’re Not In This Alone. There is probably only 1 of these in existence despite the sellers claim of maybe 5-10. Nobody makes 5-10 acetates. Usually one is made to check the sound and then its off to the test pressing stage.

The kicker here is the seller saying it has a previously unheard mix of the record on it. I would be really interested to hear that. The price isnt cheap by any means but with what people pay for a Break Down The Walls test these days its not that far off from going rate for a one-off rarity.

Project X test pressing

Once, a long long time ago, I used to have a Judge test pressing. Not just any Judge test pressing but the NY Crew 7″ Schism test. However I’m an idiot and sold it. Actually Robby Redcheeks had bought it off me before and he sold it but in an odd deal him and I had worked out he had to give me half the money from him selling it. That record now resides somewhere in Germany (sorry Jbil).
This is not as cool as a Schism test. Not even close. But it is a Project X test pressing being sold by incorrectthoughts and that is still pretty cool.

How did Chain sell 2500 records in the UK?

Looking to fill that gap in your Chain collection? 10 other versions to collect not enough for you? Let seller big_earz help you out. The blue vinyl of Chain’s 2nd 7″ on First Strike Records from the UK is also a good place to start out if you just got into collecting Chain records. Besides the 1st press on Foundation, its the most common of all the pressings of What Holds Us Apart.
Dont lie to yourself, you need it.

Get It Quick!

While some people love this Pushead cover I never really cared for it.   Compared to the cover of The Kids Will Have Their Say its really nothing much to look at.    I feel like Pushead phoned this one in much like the cover of St Anger.   The reverse holds true of the vinyl though.   One of the best pieces of Boston sXe ever layed to vinyl.   Seller vinyljunkie1620 is offering a copy thats in great shape at a still affordable price, though its ending pretty soon.   If you for some reason are an edgeman without this record you need to do yourself a favor and pick this up,  and its a copy still in its home state.  Buy local.

The lyric sheet is cool as fuck though!

Vaccine XXX

Some newer grip-n-flip type stuff up this week from god_among_men_77, including a complete “rares” collection of western Mass’ Vaccine.

If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard these guys yet, imagine the sentiments of the first SSD lp mixed with the sound and intensity of the Crossed Out 7″ and you’re off to a decent start. Here you get: demo 7″ on clear ltd/100, Human Hatred 7″ on red ltd/200 and the recent Crimes In Blood 5″ on gray ltd/200. XXX

Lots more lots

deepfocus88 (who, iirc, was in Wide Awake) has several nice lots up, and here are a couple of highlights…

Oddly, there’s also a Token Entry Jaybird LP in here, but he chose not to include a photo. Oh well. 5-for-5 on this one, all classics.

Here’s a great little youth crew/sxe instant collection starter. Not 100% killer like the top lot — couple of my favorite records ever in here (BDTW and Trial) and a couple of stinkers (I won’t mention names since the last time I did I got verbally assaulted by the guitar player).

Teen Idles BIN

Lotsa BIN auctions up right now from deface43. Starting prices are kinda high, but this one seems reasonable to me.

First press Teen Idles here with the original heavy stock cover, these things are IMPOSSIBLE to find in clean shape since the covers scuff real easy (similar to AF 7″ or 2nd press In My Eyes 7″). This one is definitely one of the better copies I’ve ever seen, and the price has been climbing steadily, so that BIN button is awfully tempting.

More from the Dischord vaults

Jeff Nelson returns with more form the Dischord archives, and if this is anything like the last copies of these records he sold, expect them to hit monumental prices.

I like the threat to sue the rubber cement company in the In My Eyes auction :)
