“A new ’88 in ’97″

I was going to post the Supersoul Rebirth of Hardcore 1999 comp, mainly because my roommate had the huge poster hung above his desk the whole time we lived together but I realized I like this comp better.

“For The Sake Of Dedication” from Crucial Response featuring lots of great European bands of the time like Sportswear, Mainstrike and Eyeball, as well as notable American bands like Floorpunch and Ten Yard Fight. str8t8 has the green vinyl pressing out of 543 which is the only colored vinyl variant. This comes with a really nice huge booklet and the green vinyl is also supposed to have a bonus poster according to the Crucial Response site, not sure if this auction has it. I have it though and I’d say the poster being gone should not be a deal-breaker.

Back On Track

Of all the Ten Yard Fight releases, this is the one that takes the most time to warm up to. Maybe it’s the format. An LP is a lot of songs, and TYF has always been an EP band to me. Short and sweet. You know those EPs are unfuckwithable, The Only Way is a monster. So good. You should grab this one. The gold vinyl doesn’t pop up often, and EVR color vinyl is always in demand. Plus the_underdog played a few gigs with TYF. You can’t fuck with that, right?

90′s Straight Edge. Boom Again.

It seemed only appropriate to follow up the post about xuttermoshx’s 1980′s Straight Edge records with a batch of his 90s Straight Edge records, which pretty much run the gamut of the 90s styles, from Vegan Straight Edge to the Youth Crew revival to the controversial…

(Yes, this record technically came out in 2000, shut it.)

The Bout Of The Century

When it comes to the Ten Yard Fight / Fastbreak split, we usually see one color, that’d be the one bookwormnj is currently selling. Red vinyl. Nothing flashy, nothing over the top. The music is solid enough to warrant the pick up regardless of vinyl color. But if you’re one of those vinyl nerds (and we know you are), you are in luck. makeeler85 has the green vinyl version, we hardly ever see that one. And discgoroundcctx has the blue vinyl WITH the special sleeve. Quite the treat this week.

Ten Yard Fight – Hardcore Pride

A few years back, I was on a big kick to collect all the versions of the Ten Yard Fight Hardcore Pride EP. It shouldn’t have been that tough, but for some reason it was. Thing is, I had already cornered the hardest one to get, a test press. Back when I bought Dickie’s collection, this was one of the first EPs I bought off him (before I bought the whole collection in a second round of buying. Of course, apparently, that didn’t include his Bane test press .. ugh). And I have the blue one. That means I’m just missing the grey wax (like makeachange88 is selling) and the white wax. So honestly, I have no excuse not to buy this one. I’ve been over half way there for 8 years now …

TEST PRESS PRIDE!

Man I remember seeing all the Bigwheel records coming in the Newbury Comics warehouse. I picked up a few things, but not as many as I wish I had. Unfortunately I wasnt really paid that well and I lived in Allston so ‘extra’ money was not abundant and even with the discount I didnt have money to buy that many records. I still wouldnt have test presses like this guy though!

Ten Yard Fight – Hardcore Pride! original FIRST press BIGWHEEL test press

Not as good as the first one, but heres a Ten Yard Fight – The Only Way 7″ test pressing on Equal Vision. The sleeve in the picture is NOT included and the test press is of only 8 copies.

Heres a Fastbreak ‘Dont Stop Trying’ test press/first press 7″ # 5 out of 55.

And last up we got a test press of the Fastbreak ‘Fast Cars, Fast Women’ LP on Underestimated Records. This one also does NOT include a sleeve, but its out of only 8 copies!

Proud 2 Be Straight.

Some people have been known to say that Ten Yard Fight didn’t hold up 10 years later. I certainly hope that phoenix2443 isn’t selling these because they’re one of those people…

You want to say Back On Track doesn’t hold up… yeah, you won’t get much argument out of me there. But Hardcore Pride and The Only Way? Man, I’ll still mosh in a pit of equality to any track off of these two records. Even the song Clevo wrote. So many of the memories from my formative years in hc had TYF as a soundtrack, hell the only reason I knew there were still hc shows to go to and that it wasn’t a dead medium was because Shred played Proud To Be Straight on WBCN one Sunday night; how am I gonna pretend I don’t still love them?

Maroon Vinyl reminds me of highschool

yeahwhatup may have some better/more rare stuff for sale, but I love this record and I’m a sucker for maroon vinyl. I grew up in Woonsocket and the highshcool colors were maroon & white. Completely unrelated to this record thats why the first Temperance single on ‘Trinity Records’ came on Maroon vinyl. I went to highschool with Adam Roy (the bass player) and John Guilbert (who put out the record). Oh how I miss those ‘salad days’. : )

Anyway, I think this is out of 2700 on maroon vinyl, but its still worth the opening bid!

First & Ten

You’ve seen a bunch of the auctions here, but I would suggest you keep an eye on trashamericanstyle because with all the great stuff they’ve been selling who knows what could come next!?

Ten Yard Fight – ‘Back On Track’ clear Yellow vinyl. Limited to only 300 copies! Awesome record… Awesome band that totally helped keep Boston alive for a long time. Wrench has also done a lot of great video work including working on the Slapshot documentary ‘Chip On My Shoulder: The Cautionary Tale of Slapshot’ which hopefully Taang! will eventually release.

Ten Yard Fight also had a great logo! The X’ed up football guy is instantly recognizable and makes a great Tshirt!

Ooooffffff, Not a Test Press

Where do people come up with their info?

Jeesh.

At vinylnoize, we at least ATTEMPT to give out facts before posting some shit on the internet for the world to see.

This seller? Not really good at the fact finding.

What you see here is a Ten Yard Fight EP on Big Wheel Records, blue vinyl. It doesn’t have a sleeve.

That is all. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s just minus a sleeve. Oh sure, someone got cute and wrote Boston XXX on it, but hell, it could have been anyone. Maybe it was Lacroix. Maybe it was AP. Maybe it was the seller. Who knows.

What we do KNOW however, is that it is NOT a test press. I should know. I own a Ten Yard Fight Big Wheel Records EP test press, and it definitely isn’t on blue vinyl with a real label.

* shout outs to Dobek (that FOOL!) for pointing this auction out to me. One love.

Clevo Sucks

The Right Brigade EP. Great little album here. It came in a few different pressings from Stillborn Records (that’d be Jamey Jasta’s label, yo). Some on pink, some on white. This one is on white wax has the limited edition “Clevo Sucks” cover, numbered 38 of 38.

Say what you want, but Clevo is a pretty cool guy.

“Clevo Sucks” chants are funny**, but you know it, and I know it, he’s a good egg.

To this day, I still have never listened to the LP.

** CLEVO SUCKS

Ten Yard Fight – Geena Davis and Lori Petty are gross

Admit I sucked you in with that title. I am posting this at 2:07am so yeah.

Don’t miss your chance to fill in the Ten Yard Fight gaps in your collection with this robust lot. Or you can surprise your friends with doubles and look like a baller if you already have some of what’s offered. Oh hey, the seller is from Racine Wisconsin. All I know about Racine Wisconsin is, in the movie A League of Their Own, Kit (Lori Petty) gets traded to the Racine Belles after feeling inferior to her big sister Dorothy (Geena Davis) who is the best player in the league. Also Tom Hanks, Madonna and Rosie O’Donnell are there, fuck yeah!

“Batter up, hear that call, the time has come, for one and all, to plaaaay Baaaaallll. We are the members of, the all American team we come from cities near and…”

Ahem, where was I? Buy this lot if you got the scrilla.
