48 Years, 1 Day. Ride, Jackie Ride

48 years ago and 1 day, President John F Kennedy was assassinated in Texas. How crazy is that? Nearly 50 years ago. Of course, I wasn’t alive, but it was the first “where were you when” event most baby boomers point to. Moon landing, Challenger explosion, 9/11 … Sorry to get all deep on you, but e_straight_killah is providing us with the next event. The “why the fuck did you lay this piece of Misfits vinyl on your scuzzy floor to take pictures” event. It’s a big one.

Thankfully, this picture was taken in a normal spot.

How did a dude with an ebay user name e_straight_killah get such AWESOME vinyl? Check his other auctions for a few more goodies

Tomorrow Is Horror Business

This Misfits EP from trinko5000 is pretty cool. A little water damage, bu that yellow vinyl is soo, soooo sweet. My favorite part, “There is a little Mr. T ink stamp on the inside of the sleeve that I used to mark all my records back in the day.” How cool is that? I’d love to see that stamp. Who’s got a double A-side?

Samhain Initium PINK

Sometimes I watch auctions that I have no interest in or intention of bidding on just to see how much they sell for. Not a week goes by that I don’t watch something end and think “holy crap!”. I know absolutely nothing whatsoever about anything Danzig has ever done, but I do know that this thing is crazy rare – “at least ten copies” according to misfits central (although if you search popsike for ‘initium pink’ then you will find 13 listings… which means that the same copies keep getting bought & sold, or maybe there are actually a few more than 10). The one thing I do notice though is that the highest price paid for one previously was $1025, and the copy on ebay right now is only $110 off that with nearly three days to go. Best sell your yellow vinyl GB 7″ with Warzone labels pretty fast if you want to add this one to your collection!

Checking In With The Misfits

It’s been a while since we’ve checked in with The Misfits. The market is always going up on these, no doubt. And lucky for you, pterosonus has 4 gems.

Evil Live 1981. Damn. 1981 was 30 years ago. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Halloween Plan 9 Records. 1981. 5000 (yes, five thousand) pressed. But don’t expect to scoop this for cheap just because of the high pressing count.

3 Hits From Hell on black vinyl. Love this one. Something about this cover speaks to me. It isn’t too cartoonish, or ghoulish, but it just works. First press, and according to The Misfits pressing page, not limited at all … Wild.

Horror Business. Yellow Vinyl. It doesn’t get too much better than this. There are 2000 of these gems from the second pressing in 1979, but they still sell for an ass ton. And if it had double a-side labels? Forget about it, too rich for your blood. Or if it was black vinyl … ok, I guess it does get better than this.

Anyone else think his weird beaded placemats are an odd way of displaying super valuable vinyl?

Checking In With The Misfits

It’s been too long since we’ve checked in with The Misfits vinyl on ebay. This week has a few gems up. We’ll focus on two sellers, rsw195757 and lbnyc2005. Between these two sellers, you could either have a sick Misfits collection stood up, or you could pay a month of your mortgage. You decide. It’ll be interesting to see where these top out.

The Horror Business EP on yellow vinyl. “Only” 2000 of these were pressed back in 1979. To a modern collector, that doesn’t sound too rare, but for an EP that is 31 years old, we can assume a lot of these have been lost to the sands of time.

Halloween EP. The seller claims this is a “light orange” variant cover. Don’t think I’ve ever heard of one of those “variants,” but I would suspect it’s a legit EP. Maybe just a sun damaged cover …?

Both of these 3 Hits From Hell EPs are the second press from 1986, but that shouldn’t stop you from bidding on them.

I like the small hole. You don’t see a lot of those. Odd that there are two on ebay now. This one and another.

And not exactly “The Misfits” but close enough. Danzig, yo. This is also a second press on purple vinyl. Limited to 500 from 1983. Dope.
