This time, I’m giving you an EP that deserves a home in the collection of every fan of Tigers Jaw, A Loss For Words and Buried Alive. Ok, maybe not Buried Alive. But certainly Set Your Goals or Title Fight. This EP from aaronbyung is a must have. White vinyl. Each side is a gem. The Promise Ring and Texas Is The Reason. East Texas Ave. You may be tempted to check your RPMs, but you are hearing this one right. Super laid back groove. And Blue Boy from TITR. Just a great listen. Go ahead and schoop this white vinyl from Jade Tree. It’s well worth it.

When I think about 1997, I think about The Promise Ring.

No, I never saw them live. No, I probably never drove long nights listening to them.

BUT.

I think I spent hours in my room listening to these albums. It was a very time and place band for me. Nothing Feels Good got constant play in my dorm room. Must have been good for those melancholy afternoons.

Maybe I’m not missing much on the live show front. That’s fine by me. I’ve got Kitty Pryde, and Nightcrawler too … yeah, I mixed bands. You know what I’m saying.
