Goal Driven

When I was getting seriously into record collecting, it was always with a goal in mind.

At first, I was just collecting LPs. And my major goal was to collect my top 10 favorite LPs. Later, my goals widened to Rev 1-23. But in the beginning, my top 10 LPs was the goal. Here’s the list (as dredged from the recesses of my brain).

1. Gorilla Biscuits – Start Today
2. The Cro Mags – Age Of Quarrel
3. Youth Of Today – Break Down The Walls
4. Killing Time – Brightside
5. Judge – Bringin It Down
6. Madball – Set It Off
7. Sick Of It All – Blood, Sweat And No Tears
8. 7 Seconds – The Crew
9. Slapshot – Back On The Map
10. Black Flag – Damaged

Or everyone who had one wasn’t letting it go. And I mean the In Effect release, not the Kingfisher re-release on maroon vinyl. At the time, I wasn’t even aware of a repress. I finally tracked it down, and that felt good. Of course, it just lead to the next obsession …
