Touche Amore tour press…and on tour now

Touche Amore played 2 shows in Boston last night. When they rolled thru here with Converge a while ago, Johnberklee1 picked up this tour pressing of their 6131 LP, …To The Beat Of A Dead Horse on seafoam green. I think that Johnberklee1 might have had a little too much coffee as he wrote up the listing for this, cause dude is straight rambling.

i went for converge, saw the tour press, the singer is a nice guy, sold the last one to me. i never listened to it, it sat on my shelf for this whole time, i need money, boom. run on sentences all up in this place. to be honest i’ve only listened to touche amore twice. my friend’s band played their first boston show, it was cool. then i saw them here. it was cool. not really my thing but if it floats your boat or beats your horse HAHAHAHA go for it.
selling it for what i paid for it. should it go higher, cool. should it go lower, i don’t know how that’d work.

No worries, it gets to the point.

Mental rip off?

Here’s an interesting situation that oft occurs on eBay. You find a dude selling a few nice records, spot a couple of things you want, and then… BANG… you notice the seller’s feedback is beyond low. You read the feedback to discover that the dude has a bit of a shady past and seems to have not sent out items he has sold. So you sit there and think “well maybe the feedback will put everyone off, so if I bid I can score it at a low price” combined with “but if I score it at a low price, dude is even less likely to want to send it out”. It’s an interesting dilemma no doubt.

For those of you who like mind games, epitomeoffreewill10 is clearing out his Mental collection, which includes a couple of the rarer tour pressings:

Maybe you’ll score some bargains, maybe you’ll end up in a lifetime of paypal disputes. He is offering shipping confirmation free of charge though if that helps. Give it some thought…

A Broken Pinky Swear

Breaking a pinky swear to Ray Cappo is low. That’s like stealing candy from a baby or mooning old people. It’s just not right. But that’s exactly what mutateme did. He snagged both of these Supertouch Live On WNYU LPs at a gig and is flipping them on ebay “to pay bills” (like we’ve never heard that one before …). First is a test press limited to … 50. Yeah, 50. And then there is the Record Release version which is also limited to 50. The rest of the pressing is 200 on red, and 300 on black. Are the 50 on black part of the 300 on black?? Don’t know. Who the Hell is Horror Hotel Productions? This is their only release. The one and only. Weird.

Dead End Path Blind Faith Tour Press

Sigh, it didn’t take mattlionnc to flip this one onto ebay. Damn. I really want one of these Dead End Path tour presses. But instead of buying it from ebay, I’m going to wait for the band to come to my town and get one. It’s next week. Hope they still have one. Even if they don’t, I’m buying a tshirt. TO WEAR, not flip. Can’t wait for that gig …

Mouthpiece Face Tomorrow Tour Press

I never saw Mouthpiece during their hay day. Oddly (not really), they never made it to Maine. Not that many bands did. During the summer of 1995, I was busy catching bands like Sam Black Church & Tree. Snapcase and Strife didn’t make it to Maine until 97. Earth Crisis was 96. But Mouthpiece never made it that far north. I’m sure they played some killer gig in Massachusetts on this tour, but I wasn’t around. I’ll have to ask Casali how it was. Maybe they played Pearl Street (likely) or Babyhead. Update: the local show was at the Tune Inn in New Haven CT. There you go.

Another one from sixfeetunderrecords. Great items.

What We Know Tour Press

I picked up my copy of the What We Know LP at a gig in Billerica, Mass (for those non-natives, it’s pronounced Bill – Ricka, there is no Erica about it). I hadn’t planned on buying one, I was really looking for a tshirt. But when I asked for my size, Dylan informed me they didn’t have left in that size. But he offered up the very last tour press lp. Just one left. Being the collector nerd, I snagged it. Even though I wasn’t buying vinyl at that time, the nerd kicked in, and I snagged it. It wasn’t an issue. I was a First Step fan. The EP was cool, and the imagery hooked me. Plus, it was a great show. First time I met Lance and a lot of the Have Heart / BU crew.

March 31, 2006 @ Masonic Lodge Billerica Mass: Have Heart, The First Step, Verse, Hammer Brothers, Fired Up, Maintain

Pretty solid lineup. I recall Verse playing a super long set, but kids going bonkers. Have Heart killed it too. Oddly, The First Step seemed super sloppy. Maybe it was because they were all full of vegetarian indian food**. Who knows. Fun gig, regardless. Safe to say, life_as_one was not at that gig. But grab this lp. It’s a good one.

** I ran into Steb, Aaron and Greg Bacon before the gig at a vegetarian indian restaurant up the street. My solo dinner became a TFS dinner. Not too shabby despite having never really talked to Greg or Aaron before that. Semi awkward …

True Colors Bonanza

Normally I avoid the glut post, but xpeersx has given me an opportunity that I can’t pass up. He’s put up FIFTEEN different True Colors records. Yes, that’s one – five. If I had to guess, I would assume he is in the band or at least a superfan. Either way, he put together a great collection; there are some super items in here. True Colors was awesome. These albums represent their greatness. You can pretty much scoop up their whole discography from one seller. Here are just a few that caught my eye. Get into it.

It’s a Malfunction!

Malfunction Records was this dope little label out of Washington DC. They released a ton of great albums from DC/ Virginia based bands.

After a few years, they ended up merging with Deathwish Inc. You can still get the full back catalog from Deathwish Inc.

But here are a few great gap fillers for you Malfunction Record completists. Some excellent test presses and great tour presses for Worn Thin and Count Me Out. Count Me Out … So good.

That Didn’t Take Long: FP 2x LP

That didn’t take long at all. Here is the Floorpunch tour double LP put out by Six Feet Under Records. These covers were made special for the tour.

The LPs were sold mostly over the weekend. Selling out in minutes is definitely a lie, as they were available for multiple shows.

But if you wanted one and didn’t get one, maybe this is your chance.

I’d suggest telling this guy off though. $18 to ship a record worldwide? Is it being shipped in a protective iron sheath guarded by trained attack chihuahuas?

American Nightmare tour press

One of the millions of presses of this record. This is the first of the first though. Sold their summer tour in 2000 and this one is numbered #175/300. I remebered a friend actually picked me up a copy for me cause I missed the show. I had only seen AN once before that time at the Hangover House in Meridan, CT when they only had the demo out. Wasnt a huge fan of the sound on the demo but when I first dropped the needle on this record I was hooked. Great shows from this time period. Just tons of friends going nuts every single time!

Some Great Sunday Albums

This seller has some dope auctions up right now. Check em.

First up is the Title Fight Kingston EP. It’s actually the record release version. I’ve been spinning this and the LP a LOT lately. Very impressed by these kids.

Suicide File Test Press? Oh word. And it isn’t for that album that never really came out. Nah, this is for the Indecision Records EP. Great little pick up here.

Killing The Dream Test Press. Another dope one. I really am feeling this cover. Rivalry Records does it right! (see what I did there? Shout outs to Kyle and Zach, sorry about the goof up last week).

Finally. An Alkaline Trio Test Press. This one is a cool little collectible. The actually album was press in a “limited” quantity of 3000. Not so limited. This one, however, is a test pressing of 8. Now that’s limited. And for a big band like Alkaline Trio, you won’t get something this limited again. That certificate of authenticity is LOL worthy so. Sooo ridic.
