Keeping Up With The (Marcus) Andrews …

A while back, Marcus (aka mcs) was waxing poetically about his anti-desire to get into collecting Septic Death vinyl. The fascination with the vinyl is obvious. Of course, the artist behind it all is the real kicker. Well, along comes this Desperate For Attention EP. According to moneyspender, this is an album Marcus would be all over. The seller thinks there are only 4 potentially out there — seems right up Marcuses alley … Of course, his math contradicts the text on the page where he saw two of the four supposed copies. Or does it?

There were 9 Test Pressings made and 1 Acetate. There were 2 pressings. The 1st pressing was filled with errors, so most of the colored vinyl was returned to the pressing plant and destroyed. From the 1st pressing there were 493 on black vinyl, 7 on white vinyl, 7 on red vinyl, 7 on multi-color white with red spots, 7 on multi-color red with white spots, 5 on orange vinyl, and 3 on orange/white swirl vinyl. The 2nd pressing consisted of 100 on opaque blue vinyl, 95 on multi-color clear with black and red spots, 73 on clear vinyl, 71 on neon yellow with green spots, 57 on light grey vinyl, 46 on grey/black marbled vinyl, 28 on neon yellow with green swirls, and 2 on neon yellow with green and black swirls.

There are 28 neon yellow with green swirls. 71 on neon yellow with green spots. And two neon yellow with green and black swirls. That’d make 101 neon yellow records … seems like an odd count to me. Either way, this one is a “transition” goof up variation. If you are into such things, have at it. For more pics of the rest of the press, check out the Septic Death page.

Saves The Day – I’m Sorry You’re One Of A Kind

Our good friend Kyle is back with a ton of great new auctions. You will recall him from Rivalry Records. You should also recall him from his latest outlet, Seeking The Simple. On his blog, you can see many drool worthy records from many drool worthy bands. Thing is, you can then own those drool worthy records. He’s been unloading a lot of stuff lately (so expect to see plenty of posts about his auctions).

This particular ep is a real gem. Saves The Day dropped these I’m Sorry I’m Leaving EPs to a rabid collecting mob. And the combinations were nearly endless. From different color vinyl to different color butterflies to a few funky labels. Kyle has a great one off. This one is a “transition” vinyl EP, white with black streaks. To commemorate the “special” vinyl, the butterfly sleeve is also a transition variation. Now, I’m guessing there are probably a few transition vinyls, but who knows how many transitions sleeves. If Kyle says “there is only one,” I believe him. Dude has STD on lock. Go grab this one. I’ll be sitting back with popcorn. It’s going to get hectic.

Samhain: With White Swirls?

I don’t mind clever sales tactics, but this upsell from hawdave is just missing a little something. Granted, the Unholy Passion LP on color vinyl is a pretty coveted item from any Samhain fan. Despite being second press, people gobble it up. Limited to 500 is pretty limited, you know? This particular one is marketed as “red with white streaks.” We all would call that transition vinyl. When they went from red to white or white to red, there was some bleed. This is apparently one of those copies. However, there are no clear pics of the white streaks. Not one. Go ahead, click through, you won’t see anything that looks like a white streak. You will see a Glenn Danzig autograph though, if that means anything to you. Even though it’s a big ticket item, I suspect this one will be relisted a few times due to no bidders.

Are Your Idols Dead Yet?

Whats that you say, you really like Kill Your Idols? You say you’re looking for some rarish KYI records for your collection? Well then everythingsuperfan is here to help you out!

Here is the final swansong 7″ from Kill Your Idols, ‘Samon Swim Upstream’ from vicious circle records. This particular version is a transition piece produced during the switch over from black to yellow vinyl. What they ended up with were 25 copies that are kind of mustared/grey splatter vinyl. These 25 also have KYI logo stamped inner sleeves. Super limited and super cool!

“salmon swim upstream” on black vinyl.

“salmon swim upstream” on yellow/banana vinyl limited to 300!

Looking for something a little brighter and more colorful? Then check out the KYI boxset which I think the seller has described perfectly…
five records on pretty colors
the booklet
a sticker
a patch
a screen printed thingy
