Great friend barfight is selling his Soul Search – Intolerable Weight test press. This release was pre-Triple B 7″ and on Thick Skin Records. I don’t know anything about Thick Skin Records, but in barfight‘s description he states that there are only 500 of the regular version of this 7 inch. Soul Search is a new addition to the Back To Back family so show them some love and check out the auction.

You’ll have to excuse how late this post is. Our servers were hammered last night, something about a database being filled. Sucky, you probably noticed. But that’s the problem. I didn’t get a chance to post up the glut of test presses from triplebrecords. Serious. Crazy. Lets get to it.

Never heard this story about the Foundation test presses. Pretty amusing, and makes sense now.
Should I fill out my collection with these Dead End Path test presses?
WAY back in August of 2011, yeah, a million years ago, Dead End Path had a record release gig for Blind Faith. I’m into this album, and the dudes are awesome. I can’t believe how cheap this one from incredibissell still is with less than a day to go. I’m getting my bid in as I don’t own this one yet.
Here’s the thing. Free Spirit is awesome. Big fan of this entire crew and every song they’ve released. You know what I’m looking forward to hearing? The American Hardcore Comp II. The second one. For real. Want to hear this. Until then, you can grab this lot from lifextime. Clear out of 300, red out of 700. And then, and then, AND THEN, you get a Stick Together tape. You can’t eff with that.
Two weekends ago, I got to see the almighty Free Spirit at Triple B fest. Normally Free Spirit shirts are the big ticket items on ebay. I stumbled across society_suckers‘s auction of the Free Spirit – Free Yourself EP turning over a bigger buck than I would think it would go for. This copy on clear vinyl is out of 300, which is the most limited version of the record (I’m pretty sure there wasn’t any record release version). At the fest, Free Spirit showcased some of their new material, which I am most excited for. I hope to see another Free Spirit record in 2012!
At around 4 am this morning, the Dead End Path crew came to catch up on some sleep at my place after their Baltimore Gig and before their Philly show tonight. I don’t think they liked the new puppies destroying some of their sleeping supplies. I’ve personally had the chance to tour with DEP and they are one of the hardest working bands out, and putting out some of the more igno tunes of today. It’s easy to be “democore” dude but I can honestly say that Dead End Path has gotten better musically and live with every release they’ve put out. I’m excited to see them at Broad Street Ministy with Bane, Miles Away and Defeater tonight. If you are around Philly, make sure you come to the gig tonight.

This one almost squeaked under the radar. That’d be a shame. Dead End Path rules. And Blind Faith is a pretty righteous album. Looks like triplebrecords is putting together some scratch for his next release. So you should probably dig deep and grab this test press. Limited to 15 copies, not too bad.
I can’t believe this is the first time someone has thought of this. Seriously. With the proliferation of cameras on EVERY smart phone out there, you’d think this would have been done before. But I don’t think it has. At least, this is the first time I’m seeing something like this. Amazing.
Pretty sure this is the same set where the girl in green gets a fist to the lip/nose. That Not Sorry tee was certainly bloody later in the day, that’s for sure. Pick up these EPs from 9140emery while you are at it. Minus. Very hard.
Free Spirit will be taking America by tour next weekend with Dead End Path and United Youth. Do your American duty and support these dudes. You can accomplish it by doing any (and all) of the following: moshing a lot, stage diving, buying a tshirt (that you don’t plan to flip on ebay), buying some records, bringing Gil snoopy related tshirts and tchotchkes. And Canadians, I realize you aren’t American or part of America, and that their 4 day tour is actually spent half time in Canada. That’s fine. You can show your Canadian pride by bringing Gil maple syrup and snoopy tchotchkes with maple leaf logos among the other items listed above. Check out the tour dates here.
Grab this Free Yourself EP from everyonerage26. Clear vinyl, limited to 300. Shout outs to Sam Triple B who I saw for approximately 4 seconds at a gig last night. What a weird gig.
I heard that 2011 would be the year of the LP from triplebrecords. I believe it. Sam has a lot of good ones lined up. But this particular record dropped in 2010. The record release gig was just awesome. Two days of excellent bands in Haverhill, Mass. Lots of broing down, lots of mosh, plenty of good times. At the gig, you could only get the one color, but that’s cool, I had already pre-ordered mine. What Sam is selling here is the friends press and the test press. One is limited to 100, the other is limited to 70 (cue Cooch). Get into it. If you already have these, head over to Sam’s online store to pick up the other colors.
Every time I see this Bane EP on ebay, I chuckle a little. It’s just a weird little press. I mean, c’mon, Bane didn’t even play United Blood that year. That’s odd, right? Of course, it didn’t prevent me from having a friend pick one up for me (thanks Nikki). And it didn’t stop me from grabbing 21 other pressings of the last two EPs put out. 22 different records, no doubles. Ridiculous. Grab this United Blood ep from moniskater. Sam had a few in the online store for a bit, but they went fast. And if you want to grab the 2nd press of the Boston EP, make sure to hit up the Triple B Records estore. There aren’t many left of that one either.

Free Spirit for the win, as they actual did a test press cover on that one. I always thought that was one of the cooler things about test pressings: the alternate versions of covers, many of which end up more creative and fun than the actual covers themselves, probably because the pressure is off.
Seller triplebrecords is, of course, the label Triple B Records, and they’ve put up a virtual treasure trove of test presses and rarities of their releases. I know some people will now turn around and accuse them of hoarding in order to flip their own releases for personal profit, but I think it’s far more likely that they’re trying to raise money for more releases. And I don’t have a problem with that, so long as it means more releases like the America’s Hardcore comp:

Here are a couple of great EPs from Wilkes-Barres own Dead End Path via introxchanges (great user name, by the way). First up is the demo which is limited to 50. Peep that cover. Great Alone In The Crowd reference. Didn’t we see something like this just a few days ago? Psyched that bands are covering Alone In A Crowd again. It’s been too long. This particular Dead End Path ep is number 22.
And from the great Triple B Records is the Death Walks Beside Us EP on yellow vinyl. Limited to 200. Favorite part, design-wise? The EP label. That just looks classy. Head over to Triple B to pick up the clear green copy. FAST!
Some of you may be surprised to know that Free Spirit is a band that PLAYS music. Yes, it’s true. They put out demos and EPs. What you are looking at now is in fact, music made by the band. This is their long awaited Be Yourself EP, split release from Triple B Records and Lockin Out. This EP has less than 12 hours to go and I’m angry and hopeful at the same time. Angry that is has no bids. And hopeful that everyone is instead buying the EP straight from Sam over on Triple B Records. There aren’t many left so hurry.
