Just Say NO To Unity.

I totally don’t mean that. In fact, you should definitely be saying YES to the Unity ep being sold by hardcorex74, because it’s a great record that people never seem to talk about (tho it always does just fine when sold).

So why did I say to say no to Unity? Well, it’s because this seller is also selling the first 3 pressings of No For An Answer’s You Laugh ep, which itself is no laughing matter.

Fit Of Anger And Oxblood

It looks like gernblandsten is selling another collection. This collection has some great EPs (and even better demos, wait for that upcoming post …). Plenty of Rev staples, and loads of decent punk. This particular collection comes from “a member of the NYHC band FIT OF ANGER and OI band OXBLOOD.” I think that would make this Paul, right? Go ahead, check out these items.

You Are One.

I love Unity. Yet another band that I wouldn’t have heard half as soon without Lost and Found records, along with In Your Face and Unbroken. We’re talking tender age of 15 here. PMA? Learned it from Unity a year before ever hearing the ROIR cassette, sorry Bad Brains. I can even get down with Blood Days, even though there’s no argument that the original versions of the tracks from the You Are One 7 inch SMOKE the re-recorded versions…

On the subject of Unity, it just so happens that a couple days ago, Double Cross blog posted up another installment of their great (at this point, do we have to keep pointing out that their interviews great? They’re ALWAYS great!) interview with Joe D Foster, and as with the installment prior, a lot of it is about Unity. Go. Read. Now.

ps- If you’re not interested in springing for the OG, Uncle Tre has a copy of the Indecision repress on red ending tonight:

Free Spirit

One of my favorite records of the year! What is not to like about this record?? If you havent heard please do yourself a favor and seek it out. I believe the first pressing is all sold out. It was 700 on red and 300 on clear. This being the more rare version obv but you cant go wrong either way. Remember this is all about the music not the goods. andywkf doesnt like this band anymore probably thats why hes selling a record that just came out not too long ago?

4 From The West.

Seller grafiksboy has a lot of hardcore auctions going on, including these lps from 4 classic West Coast hardcore bands with 3 very distinctive singers (Pat Dubar sang for both Unity and UC)…

I’m going to make what will probably be an unpopular admission here… Insted? Not that into ‘em. I won’t pretend they aren’t a classic band, and We’ll Make The Difference is a great song, but every other song I’ve heard from them is just a blur to me. I have the same issue with 7 Seconds and The Crew record. That said, Insted WERE really good when I saw them on one of their reunion stops (Living Room in Providence with The First Step).

UNITY!

A Unity EP test press! What are the chances? Oh wait, it’s a Lost & Found test press … wah wah wah. The seller claims “Test presses are very rare, often limited to only a handful per release!” But we all know this isn’t really the case when it comes to L&F. Much like the Funhouse Records test pressings, there seems to be a crap ton of these. Granted, a live Unity recording from a zillion years ago is still pretty cool. This is an interesting piece, but not worth a bidding war. NO MORE!

Our Prices Are INSANE!

I’ve seriously decided natalia112345 is insane. Some of these start bids simply have to be seen to be believed…

Cooch mentioned this in the comments on my last batch of natalia112345 auctions, and I had to look for myself. Words don’t even do the ridiculousness of it justice.

This one’s a shame, because a PX 7 inch with “Fuck CBGB’s” written on the B side should be easy money. One with a randomly selected $320 start price though? Probably gonna go for less than it should.

And this? This is a CD. A BOOTLEG cd. With a $39.99 starting bid.

I think maybe someone should buy our beloved seller one of these. It’s certainly cheaper than bidding…

Stone Cold Classic

Before 1985, California punk and hardcore was massive.

But after… California makes a sharp decline.

Not a diss at all, but let’s be real. Look at the bands and music California was churning out before 1985. So, to say it slowed down considerably is fair. But if they only had one record to contribute to hardcore punk… California would’ve done it right by choosing this one.

Almost nothing looks cooler than Wishingwell Records on color vinyl. From the looks of it, the seller is a so cal lifer with some other big time stuff for sale, so definitely check the other items. It feels right buying a U.C. LP on color and having it mailed to you from Orange County, CA… even in 2010.
