Is this serious?: Warzone S/T

There are some Buy It Now prices on ebay that make little sense, but this might take the cake for the most ridiculous in recent times. Seller found4u2011 who claims that they are located in LOWEST PRICES, USA has the Warzone’s Self Titled LP. This ends in 11 hours and is MARKED DOWN. It would be a shame if someone thought this was a fair price or even bought it.  I’m going to let YOU the reader click on this auction to see what this is going for.  Keep in mind I bought my copy a little less than a month ago for 8 dollars and it came without the WAR Z sticker.

The price of ‘gold’ keeps rising

Our old friend vitaminhedgehog is back with more Revelation rarities that y’all can’t get enough of. First up, a copy of the ‘Together’ 7″ on ‘gold’ vinyl, which opens at $599.99, or which you can BIN for $699.99. As we know, only Tre would refer to this as ‘gold’, the rest of the world would call it ‘orange’… although obviously Tre would just say that he’s correct because he’s quoting the Rev discography, which also refers to this ‘orange’ as ‘gold’ and just adds to the confusion.

Next up, another in the same series of confusing colors, a ‘gold’ vinyl copy of the Warzone 7″, set at the same opening bid and BIN prices. Interestingly though, the Rev discography refers to this record as ‘orange’, even though it’s on the same ‘gold’ as ‘orange’ ‘Together’ comp. Confused yet? Yeah, me too. Anyway, the last one of these sold on ebay for $567 just recently, so an extra $32 probably won’t seem too bad for someone. But you might still get outbid. So maybe if you’re feeling super wealthy then you could end the bidding and bag this with a BIN. Who knows, if you don’t pick this one up then you could be waiting a few months for another chance.

Warzone LESC on Orange Vinyl

So, here’s a trade I’ve been trying to work. I have a WarZone LESC EP on orange vinyl, like the one being sold by gernblandsten. I’m not dying to trade my, not even close. The guy who wants it has a mint x-rated swatch. To me, this seems like an easy straight up deal. But I don’t think the x-rated swatch holder feels the same. I mean, c’mon, the swatch price is greatly inflated today. It won’t last. But the value of a WarZone EP on orange vinyl? Well, that’s worth it’s weight in gold. Thoughts?

US of Oi! BIN

Seller surf80 brings us a nice copy of the classic US of Oi! comp on Link Records, at a pretty decent BIN price. If you’re a NYHC completist, this comp has a weird one-off recording of WarZone’s classic “Don’t Forget The Struggle”, which doesn’t sync with any other recordings I’ve ever heard of this song. If there’s more from this session I’d love to hear it, as I think this version trumps the LP recording. The rest of this comp ain’t too bad either, classic tracks from The Uprise, Anti-Heros, YDL amongst others.

Sealed WARZONE DFTS DFTS. Word

Duane Some’s old records sure do seem to be making the rounds on ebay this week. This is another one being sold by gernblandsten. A sealed 2nd pressing of DFTS isnt something you run across every day and when it pops up you should jump on it. This is my favorite NYHC lp of all time and i have a soft spot for sealed records so maybe ill jump on it myself.

Warzone Orange Is Ebay Gold.

Our pal xxxevilxxx666 is back with a slice of eBay gold: a WarZone Lower East Side Crew on transparent orange vinyl. Which of course as we all know, tends to look gold. So to me, this one counts as literal eBay gold.

And while we’re on the subject of WarZone (a favorite subject if there ever was one), seller hardcorex74 also has a first and a second press of this up for auction…

No matter which one you have in your collection, it’s a win.

The end of WarZone Wednesday

Final post of the day for me and this one is again from Kyle Rivalry. I probably shouldnt have waiting until this late to dub this WarZone Wednesday but really anytime is WarZone time. The copy Kyle is selling here is a 2nd pressing in superb shape. A real prize for any collection!

Where Is Your Brain?

Time for another War Zone 7″, and i feel like this one has been posted before. handsomephantom maybe relisted or maybe i just posted a similar one, who knows. It doesn’t matter what pressing of this record it is, theyre all good and you need to own it.

If it were Thursday, I would call it Together Thursday

…and that would just sound stupid, so I am glad it’s Wednesday.  Got another one here from Good Ole Gern. Revelation Records number two, the Together comp. 7 inches of classic NYHC with Sick Of It All, Supertouch, Side By Side…and some other bands. Boom. Where “it” all started (after that Warzone 7″ of course…)  Looks like I will have to refer back to the supposed Holy Grail of Rev collecting, the rev.txt doc. White inserts, look like the cover is one piece, can’t really tell, but the inserts don’t look like “obvious photocopies” so I guess this is a first press? Sounds good to me. Have at it kiddies!!!

Warzone Wednesday with a Fist

Another hit from gernblandsten. This time it’s the first pressing of the Warzone LP on Fist. That’s the one with the cool handwriting on the back. I remember when I first noticed the difference between these two. “Hey wait, this one has weird handwriting on the back, but mine doesn’t.” The differences “back then” between pressings was a lot different than now. Simpler almost. Oh the good ole days! Now, these pesky kids and their million different colors… damn them!

Warzone Wednesday starts of with a sticker

Gernblandsten has been bringing the heat forever. I am excited to see what something as simple and small as a sticker will go for. Hopefully something ridiculous. I like ridiculous. And the kids, they love Warzone.  He’s got a ton of old NYHC stickers.  You could have the coolest notebook in school!

I actually thought this was the 7″ at first, and wondered why there was a ruler in the photo.

I remember 1994

Like any good soldier in the early-mid 90s, I was into most of the stuff that Victory Records put out. And as a vinyl nerd I enjoyed that they made limited color vinyl of all of their releases (well, not quite all as it turns out). But then we all know what happened – the label started putting out total rot and then eventually stopped making vinyl. No big loss. But now here we are like 10-14 years later and all of a sudden it seems that there IS money in making vinyl, so Victory are back, pressing up color vinyl like there is no tomorrow. And rather than just press up their latest stuff, it would seem that they are now repressing some of their back catalog. Here’s a couple of recent 1994/5 releases that have been given the multiple color vinyl treatment that you can buy from ebay to avoid having to deal direct with the label:

First up, wearearecordstore gives you the Warzone ‘Old School to New School’ LP. This one might actually be worth owning as this was never previously issued on color wax.

You can also now pick up a color vinyl copy of the first Strife LP courtesy of recordstandards.

Is there really demand for hundreds more color vinyl copies of these records in 2011? I am sceptical.

Orange stickers = orange vinyl

You never know what an WarZone on orange is going to go for. The price seems to be all over the place but slowly and steadily rising over the years. You can be pretty sure that this will go for well over what a 2nd press on black would go for. Even though they were both pressed and the same time in the same amounts of 500 each. People see that color and they cant think straight I guess. It does look dope though. Interested to see what this copy from gushingaorta will end up at.

“New Yorks Finest Skinhead Band” BIN

I always loved that sticker on the shrink of this record. This copy from reasonwhy76 sadly doesnt have that sticker. Its still a reasonable BIN I think. A little high but if you wanna try to get it in lower you can always bid instead of BIN.

US of Warzone

Our old pal surf80 has one of my favorite comps up right now. US of Oi is half really awesome and half terrible. The awesome half kicks off with Warzone doing a different verison of DFTS from the LP. Theres also my two favorite Anti Heros songs and two amazing songs from the Uprise (who have an unreleased LP which is also awesome). The YDL songs on here are just the same songs that are on the 7″. It goes downhill from there with The Bootboys, Immoral Discipline and Kicker Boys doing some of the worst songs ever set to vinyl. I would still pick this us regardless of the shit fest that is half the comp.
