I’ve always been a big fan of Weezer’s Pinkerton album. Originally dropped in 96, I was turned onto it in March of 98. It was on one of those long hardcore car rides, you know the ones. The times when you get into a beat up old car with some of your best friends, drive for 10+ hours and see a few great bands 6 states away. This was one of those times. I got in a 1987 Volvo 240 DL wagon with two of my best friends, and we drove to Michigan for Detroit Fest (which was actually located in Wayne, MI). There were many hours of driving ahead of us, and the cd player had Weezer on constant rotation. I’m not sure if it qualifies for good road trip music, but it did the trick. Great drive, no tickets, no problems. We were even offered what appeared to be a cheese pizza by a dominos worker. And for poor vegans, this was a big deal. We contemplated stripping the cheese off and devouring. Of course, we found out it had a layer of bacon hidden under the cheese. Who does that? Apparently the woman who ordered it always orders the same thing. And she gets bacon below AND above the cheese. This one was missing the upper bacon layer. Yuck. Why Bother?
Ok, lets check some vinyl. This version of Pinkerton from username_237 is the Holland import press. Appears to be pretty standard Pinkerton, no big differences here.
This second one from hellytime has far fewer details. It just says it’s used. Not sure what press or where it was pressed.
