Virginia… not the top of most people’s list for hardcore hot spots on the east coast, but there are a few really great and really underrated records, and sellers doctordeadstocktoo and god_among_men_77 bring us the top of the heap.
Richmond’s White Cross were one of the few (and arguably best) early American bands mining a raw, Discharge-inspired Euro hardcore sound, and their Fascist ep is a real paint peeler. The good doctor brings us a nice unplayed stock copy of the first ep, complete with unfolded sleeve (!) and a sealed copy of the LP. For those keeping track, this is the 2nd sleeve version with the close cropped band photo. Very tasty indeed.
God’s Will were from the beach, and released this sole 7″ record in 1983. Previous to this, they were known as Front Line and had a couple of demos and an unreleased 7″ (which was finally pressed to vinyl earlier this year by my main man Mark). These guys are a little more meat-n-potatoes USHC than White Cross, but this EP is still a great and underrated ripper.
