Will Not Ignaurus

I heard Nicole and Joey were coming to town this weekend. You know I’m excited to hang with these people. And as far as Into Another goes, the only person I know who genuinely loves them is Nicole. She’s a weird one, but I still love her. One time, she came east, and didn’t hang out with us. Weak. This time, she can’t ignore us. We’re hanging.

Another gem from handsomephantom.

Carry On, Test Press Tuesday, Carry On.

Ordinarily, we’d just wait til Test Press Tuesday to bring you this one from absolutemadness, but this here is the thing: absolutemadness is actually my friend Corey, who you might know better as the singer of Internal Affairs, and the guitar player of Carry On. And he’s being forced to sell these 3 records from the repressing of the Carry On lp because some piece of dick stole his car. NOT COOL. So now he’s going to have to start auctioning things off to try and get money for a new one. Yeah, given the situation,Test Press Tuesday is just gonna have to wait while we help my bro out. Besides, you know you love Carry On, and you know you hate thieves…

Chain WHUA White

Here’s a rare chance to pick up the rarest version of the First Strike Records pressing of the 2nd Chain of Strength 7″, from UK seller dylmatic.

Here’s my stupid story of the day I bought this record for anyone who is bored…

Somewhere around Xmas 1994 I took a trip to Wigan with a friend. We got the train from Leeds. The mission was to go to Alan’s, which was the record shop owned by Alan Woods (the dude who ran First Strike Records). The main reason for going was because Alan himself was selling some of his personal collection, and I had agreed to buy some of it, so I decided to go pick the stuff up and look through the racks in the shop at the same time.

I don’t remember the journey at all, nor how we even knew where in Wigan the shop was. But what I remember was that we didn’t spend hours looking for the place, and we didn’t buy a map or anything. Somehow we just got off the train and went straight there.

We then spent like and hour looking through the records. I don’t remember much, but what I do remember was:

1. Flicking through the 7″s and coming across a Chain 7″ on Mindpower. At that point I had never heard of the Mindpower version & had no idea what it was, but because it had a photocopied, cheap looking cover, I decided in my head that it was some kind of bootleg, so I glanced at it for like 10 seconds then flicked on. Ha!

2. The Strife LP ‘One Truth’ had just come out. I remember seeing the gatefold sleeve in that shop for the first time. It made me want the record badly. I bought it there and then.

3. Once I had found a few items in the racks that I wanted, I went to the counter. At this point, I hadn’t spoken to Alan himself nor anyone else. I had walked in the door and then just started looking through the records. But when I went to the counter with my selection, somehow Alan just knew who I was. He said something like “I’ve got some things for you in the back room” and he went off to collect them. I guess I was young and a bit awestruck so I didn’t ask him how he knew it was me. I wish I had though. To this day it kinda bugs me.

4. Because I bought a few bits and bobs he threw something extra into the bag. It was a Majority of One ‘Setting The Pace’ test press. This was my first test press. However, I remember looking at it (no sleeve, plain labels) and thinking “what a piece of crap! Why couldn’t he have given me something good, the tight bastard?”. Haha! Funnily enough though, I still have that record to this day.

5. This is the important memory… there was a “reduced” box on the counter. This contained some used 7″s (I remember it had the Yuckmouth and Blind Spot 7″s on Conversion records in there, plus similar crap) and numerous Chain Of Strength 7″s. There were loads of Chain 7″s. Numerous copies of every pressing. There was seriously at least 50 copies of the Chain 7″ in that box. I rooted through, found a single white vinyl copy, bought it, and left the rest of the copies behind. The price of each was £2 (circa $3).

If I could relive any day of my life again, that day would definitely be on the shortlist.

B9 PX

Bridge 9 has done some pretty awesome reissues over the last few years. It was cool to be able to get the Antidote 7″ on vinyl without spending a ton of cash and the reissues of the AF United Blood 7″ and the Victim in Pain LP were awesome, but the Project X 7″ reissue was my favorite.

The preorder package came with a white vinyl 7″, a book of stuff out of old Schism fanzines and a cool reprint Schism shirt! The books and 7″s came with matching numbers but
redscrollstore is selling only the 7″ in this aution. Its #217 of 500 and even though there was a 2nd press this is the only way to get a numbered white vinyl copy. Unless you have an OG Schism press this is your best bet. Much better to support a lable doing the right thing than buy a crappy bootleg!

Hello Bastards

When I saw this listing from cut_down, I thought I caught him in a mistake again. He listed this white vinyl Lifetime Hello Bastards LP as being released by No Idea Records. Boom, thought I caught him again. We all know this LP was released on Jade Tree back in 95. What I didn’t realize or know, was that No Idea RE-released this lp back in February of 2010. So weird. Who knew?

Follow Through Blue… No, Wait!

In the past, I have a point of mentioning how the only color of the 3 (or 4, no one is sure about if it was pressed on regular old black vinyl) colors pressed of Follow Through’s “Taking It Back” lp that ever turn up on eBay is the blue. Which is fine; it makes for an easy rhyming pun for post titles. BUT WAIT! CT’s own redscrollstore comes through with the white vinyl!

Now all we need know is to see the ever elusive red vinyl, and we’ll have the entire American Flag triumvirate of which Craig Mack is so fond.

Inside Out: White Wax.

I’m sure I always knew somewhere inside that the Inside Out ep on Revelation came out on more than just baby blue and black vinyl, but somehow it wasn’t until I saw this auction from sickmachine that the idea of a white vinyl version became real to me…

White was the final press, and was limited to /350 according to both the seller and Rev’s discography page, making this rarer than earlier baby blue vinyl pressing (/1000), yet according to Popsike, those regularly go for 30-40 bucks more. Go figure.

The Bonds Of Friendship

Some sellers are weirdos. Take 1500jfk for example. His selling style is just weird. When he listed this Insted LP, he used the cover shot below as his “gallery” photo. That means, every time someone searches for Insted, they’ll see that pic.

They’ll see the notch on the corner of the sleeve and then they’ll probably blast right by it. However, they’d be missing out. Because INSTED of using that picture, he should have used this one. For obvious reasons …

Smooth move, ex-lax. Instead of the seller scoring big on a tour press LP limited to 200 slabs (or so…), people will just blow by it. A buyers dream!

Three Hits For A Home From Hell.

Happy home hunters Ken and Jenn’s auctions continue, with three different versions of Three Hits From Hell.

I’ve successfully kept myself out of the rafters, but now I’m pretty sure I want to egg their house once they get it.

Straight Edge Revenge!

Bridge 9 recently reissued the original Antidote 7″ and a lot of people were pretty psyched. Knowing I’ll never spend the money on an original I bought the B9 copy! For Antidote they did a pressing of 2000 copies, 1000 on red, 700 on white and 300 on green vinyl.

A few years back when they reissued the Project X 7″ they did 1500 on black and 500 on white. Then they did 1000 more on black as a second press and 1000 on clear as a third press.

This is from the first press of 500 on white vinyl and its numbered 62 of 500. This originally came with a matching numbered Schism fanzine book, but its not included in this auction.

What do you think the next Bridge 9 reissue will be?!?!

Reject Auctions.

Plenty of records available from chrisreject this week, and I have to say, for a boot, this is a nice looking United Blood 7 inch.

It’s only on closer inspection that you see how pixelated (maybe a better word for it is overexposed) that cover actually is. Other than that though, really nice looking, and that photocopied poster is pretty cool. Def a much nicer looking total package than the one we saw go for $200+ back in August. He also has some other nice stuff, like this Quicksand on white and an original Kraut 7 inch.

FRANK 151 Book.

Seller madashellgc brings us the DMS edition of the FRANK 151 book/zine, but I can’t help but notice that he doesn’t provide any sort of accompanying soundtrack…

Fortunately, hauntedtownrecords and mnl_studios have some under rated Madball records to go with it…

Madball covering Killing Time. ’nuff said.

The last great Madball record. I like a song here or there off the stuff that has come after, but Hold It Down is up there with Set It Off in my eyes.

Project X reissue set

xsmikex did a wise thing in my opinion. He decided that he wanted to sell his Bridge 9 Project X reissue 7″ and he bundled it back up the way it came with the macthing numbered book and the Schism T-shirt that came with the package deal.

In 2005 Bridge 9 did a licensed reissue of the original Project X 7″ on CD, black vinyl & white vinyl. The CD is still available (as well as a 2nd press 7″ on clear vinyl) but the black vinyl and white vinyl sold out pretty quick. Black was limited to 1500 copies and white was limited to 500, but the only way to get the white vinyl was to preorder a set that came with a 7″, a book collecting some Schism fanzines and a Schism logo T-shirt. The 7″ and the book were numbered of 500 and each set came with matching numbers. This set is # 202 out of 500.

This has been sold out for a long time and its a really nice collection so someone grab it up….. STRAIGHT EDGE REVENGE!!

From Anger And Rage: Part SAF

Earlier today, Josh posted a few examples of the From Anger And Rage LP by Verse (the seller must be liquidating his Verse collection). When this album dropped, the Rhode Island straight edge rose up. For many years, Rhode Island straight edge was sans champion. Verse filled this gap. Of course, those dudes all broke edge. What’s that saying about knights falling off horses? Fitting here.

But this album is pretty cool. A second press created for the 2007 Sound And Fury Fest. I can guess why they chose to use a “$” here, even if it isn’t related to money. I’m pretty positive Todd, Riley and Bob never made a cent on those gigs. If they had, they wouldn’t be working full time jobs like the rest of us slobs.
