Another one for the Rev Collection. Inside Out on white wax out of 350. I remember when these came out I ordered this and the quicksand 7″ on gold and maybe “the way it is comp” on blue but I remember being not too psyched on them. Like I didnt give two shits about them so I dont think I ordered any more of the “final presses” and now I kinda regret that. Wish I ordered the GB, judge, and SOIA ones. I think rekone05john is aiming at the higher end of the spectrum with his BIN on this FP single. Still kinda worth it though as floorpunch continues to get better with age and your chances of copping one on gold are slim to none.

Kill Holiday

I love Kill Holiday. I’m a Monitor Dependency guy through and through. When the LP dropped, I was confused. It wasn’t what I was expecting at all, but over the years, it’s grown on me immensely. I’m not saying I like it more than the EP, but I’m a fan.

For my 20th birthday, my wife took me to see Kill Holiday at the Middle East Upstairs.

This was quite the interesting show. If you’ve ever been upstairs in the Middle East, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Most people envision the giant stage (with shitty barrier) and the downward sloping, chute-like mosh area. But that’s the downstairs. The upstairs is a whole other world. There is the restaurant area, and then the gig space. It’s basically a raised platform with some standing area in front of it. There are a few poles holding the ceiling up. But in a low attendance gig, you can move to many unobstructed areas.

The Kill Holiday gig was not overwhelmingly attended. There were people there but not a ton. Clevo was there. So was my friend Sal (recently married and having a baby next month, CONGRATS!). Melissa and I had filled up on Indian food so we weren’t getting much moshing in. Of course, no one else was moshing either, for obvious reasons.

Kill Holiday sounded great though. They played tons of songs from the LP, but NOT ONE song from the Monitor Dependency EP. When I shouted out, “Cold Shoulder,” they laughed. I later learned they NEVER play the songs that were written with the previous singer. Suicide can do that to a band.

But the gig was cool, and I ended up snagging a blue, orange & white Kill Holiday Revelation Records tee. Good look.

Mindset

I’m a big fan of React Records. Aram is a great dude, and he’s pulled together some awesome bands for his label.

He also pulls together some excellent packages for his releases. Always that personal touch.

Mindset is one of those bands on React Records. Mindset is also awesome. The music is fucking excellent. There is no doubt about that. They’re holding down that Central US Straight Edge scene. Much like The First Step, they have it on lock.

Go ahead and grab this ep set, and you’ll be one step closer to having a collection like Jay Jacoby. This lot comes with everything Aram would have sent you had pre-ordered like you know you should have.

Don’t forget, The React Records showcase is one week from today in Berkley, Cali. If anyone wants to fly me out for the gig, I’ll gift them some sweet slabs of wax. Get at me, folks.

Worth Its Weight In Gold

About a million years ago, my friend Tre once commented that this EP would be “worth its weight in gold someday.” I’m paraphrasing because I doubt Tre has ever uttered that phrase, but the concept is what I’m trying to convey, people.

At the time, I doubted him. Seriously. I couldn’t fathom any record with a pressing of ONE THOUSAND ever being worth it’s weight in even Nickel or Cadmium.

But he was right. Over the years, this record has sold for crazy amounts. I don’t suspect this will undersell any expectations. Especially considering the number on this one. That’s right. This one does NOT have a number. A few were handed to friends and family without a number, making this one even more rare.

5 inch records. So silly. At least they fit in your EP box. Not much you can do with 10″. Too big for the EP box, too little to fit happily with your LPs. Definitely an outcast. The 5″ is sort of like that weird brother, but not so weird you won’t admit to knowing him.

It’s All Our Blood

I came across this GREAT lot just now.

Actually, a little birdie told me about it …

Now, my math may not be the greatest (if you saw my tax return, you’d likely agree), but $67 for these 3 LPs seems like a a second best bargain to having actually done the pre-order the first time around. Color vinyl is sold out so you can’t get that anymore. Of course, you should still order the black vinyl from the labels. Support React Records and Youngblood Records.

Do it. Do it.

I want a Creamsicle

A few weeks ago, someone petitioned for an embargo on New Found Glory records. I signed that petition. They never said anything about Coheed and Cambria records. I honestly don’t know anything about this record, BUT, I did find the more common colors of this vinyl selling for $160 – $220. WTF? Do people like this band that much? I just didn’t know.

I do like one thing about this band. A few yeas back, when they really broke, my friend Nick was their tour agent. He got to ride that success wave, and I’m psyched for him. For that, here’s Coheed and Cambria.

Buy this album, help out another one of my friends.

I’m (still) vegan. I can’t recall having a creamsicle in about a jillion years. Anyone know any good vegan creamsicles?
