Test press collector itsxdead brings out one of the lesser known releases from Wishingwell Records, 76% Uncertain’s ‘Hunka Hunka Burnin Log’ LP on limited blue vinyl. Like most Wishingwell color pressings, this one is quite hard to find, although it doesn’t usually sell for anywhere near as much as the Youth Of Today, Uniform Choice or Insted LPs. Maybe that’s because it’s nowhere near as much an influential record. It’s not as good as their ‘Estimated Monkey Time’ LP either. But still, a good one to have if you want that complete Wishingwell collection. And currently sitting at $14.99 with only one day left to go. Get your 2012 off to a good start by adding some color Wishingwell wax to your collection.

Screaming for A purple
Gotta love the ebay name of saddestrobot. The names people come up with never fail to impress or surprise me. Also, this Uniform Choice LP he’s selling never fails to impress me. One of the nicest looking slabs of wax there is out there. Oh, and the songs aren’t half bad either! This one is sitting with a $99.99 opening bid that, so far, nobody has jumped on. It’ll usually go for double that so don’t be shy. Spend some of that hard earned (?) xmas money your parents gave you.
Also, everyone please note, this record is called ‘screaming for change’ and not ‘screaming for A change’. The number of times that people insert that extra ‘A’ drives me mad.
Yikes, Stripes.
One day left on this pair of Wishingwell Records release being auctioned by chainxcrew: a Break Down The Walls with a yellow stripe, and a still cheap copy of Screaming For Change, which should make a good pick up. Great record.
Free Will. Wishingwell Records. Test Press Tuesday.
One last test press for Test Press Tuesday from ryebread. Not so sure if it’s got a reasonable starting bid, given that Free Will is a bit less known these days than a lot of other bands. But maybe the fact that it’s on Wishingwell might pique some peoples interest… in fact, it looks like it has already, as a bid has appeared since I originally drafted this post.
Ending Soon Freewill Wishingwell Test Press
Our friend richardbladeyourself is selling a test press for the Unreleased Freewill LP on Wishingwell Records. As usual, I will let the man speak for himself.
“This is a Freewill test pressing for the record never released by Wishing Well. I have no idea how many are out there. I was given a copy when these were first made. That one was given to a friend and this one I found at Vinyl Solution in Huntington Beach, CA. Apparently Pat Dubar (Wishing Well Records) cleaned out a closet and unloaded some last artifacts he had. When I found this, nothing on the cover stated “Freewill”, the band name was written very small in pen on the label. The outside of the jacket had the following message: “OC H/C I think, anyways it’s one of 6 in existence! Wishing Well Records (Pat Dubar, ex-vox Uniform Choice, label).
I know there’s more than 6 but I’d say it’s more like 6-10 pressed.
So here it is. I hate to see it go but chances are it will look better in your collection than mine. It’s in really good condition, I only played it twice.”
If you are a Freewill fan, you should check out the newest blog post on Blogged and Quartered. It has all you need to know about Freewill.
UC – Screaming For Change
Is there anything more tasty than colored vinyl from Wishingwell Records? Probably not. Well, maybe if Schism Records had pressed color vinyl … This Uniform Choice lp is a great one. xuttermoshx claims it is out of 100, but I always found that number hard to believe. This second press has FOUR different color variations. Would WW just press 400 for a second press? Seems weird, especially considering how LARGE most pressings were. It’s rare, but I don’t know if 100 is right. What do you think? Has an official number ever come out? Can we get DCXX on this one?
Break Down The Walls
Looks like treasurefinderjenn2010 has found some treasure under her mattress, or maybe under her couch.
Is the opening bid here a good price for this record these days? I know it’s sold for more in the past but honestly I haven’t been keeping up.
The Bonds Of Friendship
Some sellers are weirdos. Take 1500jfk for example. His selling style is just weird. When he listed this Insted LP, he used the cover shot below as his “gallery” photo. That means, every time someone searches for Insted, they’ll see that pic.
They’ll see the notch on the corner of the sleeve and then they’ll probably blast right by it. However, they’d be missing out. Because INSTED of using that picture, he should have used this one. For obvious reasons …
Smooth move, ex-lax. Instead of the seller scoring big on a tour press LP limited to 200 slabs (or so…), people will just blow by it. A buyers dream!
Freewill – Wishingwell Records Test Press
Here’s an excellent treat via zero.street. This dude has heat, and this one is especially hot. What you are looking at is an unreleased Wishingwell Records test press. This would be for the Freewill Sun Return LP. It was never released via Wishingwell Records. I wish I could tell you why it never was released. Maybe one of you know … It finally saw the light of day courtesy of Lost & Found (Barf). The band would later re-record parts and release it under the name Stone Telling. That album was … not as good as this one despite having all the same songs. Lots of people will claim the demo version of the WW lp is even better. Track it down and decide for yourself. Chances of finding this LP test press again are slim so don’t sleep.
Staring Into The Sun
You know how some people say ridiculous stuff like “We’re Not In This Alone is better than Break Down The Walls,” or “The Misfits were good when I saw them in 2004″ or even “hardcore died in 1986?” Shit like that is ridiculous. Do you think anyone has ever said “Staring Into The Sun is better than Screaming For Change?” I hope not. I can’t even imagine what sort of riff raff would say something like that. It’s just not right.
Our boy Naidoo is selling this particular copy. Honestly, I can’t recall seeing this cover before. Anyone have some info?
But for my money, it’s all about Screaming For Change. And Wishingwell color vinyl? You can’t beat that. Go ahead and hit the “Make Offer” button. This one has been sitting around for a while, you could get a deal.
Youth Of Today BDTW on Red … AGAIN
Ok, come on. seen this year. This is probably the 50th Break Down The Walls on red vinyl we’ve seen this year. Ok, maybe not 50, but likely the 10th. And oddly, we haven’t seen a lot of the Wishingwell Records on blue … hmmm. But I’m guessing recordgraveyard purchased one we’ve seen this year and is just flipping it now. Likely, he’s trying to score a pre Christmas buy … Melissa, if you are reading this, I want some quality polo shirts not this. But anyone else, feel free to snag this one for me.
Insted Bonds Of Friendship Test Press
Now we’re talking. Bonds Of Friendship. So posi, so much PMA. I love it. And thankfully, I didn’t live at 8 Carmel, otherwise, I’m sure Spaulding would have ruined it for me too (much like he did to many a dude who lived there). Sad but true. This one is a little extra special. Instead of regular black vinyl, which pops up pretty often, and not white or red, this one is a test press! Not bad, right? Wishingwell Records test presses don’t pop up that often so this is one not to sleep on. Make sure to check out the other auctions from chainxcrew, as he has up over 100 now. I’m sure you can find one or two you enjoy.
BDTW on blue
utah666 is unloading some heavy artillery here…
I used to work with a kid who was an Anthrax regular and he had one of these, and I tried to get it off of him for YEARS and he wouldn’t budge. “Ah man, it’s all scratched up, you wouldn’t want it” was his usual excuse. That was a long time ago and this thing has doubled or tripled in price since then, so I’m sure he still won’t get rid of it.
Also, as with all Wishingwell color vinyl, I always thought the “accepted” pressing amounts on these color copies was suspect, but I’ll leave that for everyone else to debate.
Power Of Expression orig
My friend and record fair cohort Mr. Robert Base has a nice little batch of LPs up right now, lots of good staple punk/hardcore LPs.
Here’s a nice copy of the first Bl’ast LP in its original form on Wishingwell, before SST repressed it. This record would make a great companion piece to either of the COC albums I posted below, or to any of the Black Flag LPs this seller also has listed.
Wishing Well Best Offer…
vegaspunx161n is selling a ton of records, but it looks like an awful lot of them would not be classified as punk or punx at all.
He does have a 1st press Wishingwell Records ‘Break Down The Walls’ LP. You can buy it now and have the same record that Jeff the drummer from Tabernackle bought on Record Store Day, but his had never been played and thats awesome!
Its got a BIN, but also has a best offer and I think that a more fair price would be in the $35-$45 range.
