Alert Demo 2008

What do you know about Alert? Here’s what I know. Mike Puffer is a dude. So is Keith Freeman. Those dudes are positive straight edge. Seriously, almost too positive. Nah, just kidding. Great dudes. Puffer is also a vegan. What gives? Vegan Straight Edge? Dude’s an anachronism. I can hang. He also has been posting up for us on skatenoize.com. I highly suggest checking out what he has to say. LOTS of good stuff. Some funny quips too. And if you came for vinyl, well, adamlpetty has what you need (only has one feedback, mind you). Here you’ll get the limited edition 2008 demo pressed on red wax. Limited to 100, this one is #85. I’m fairly positive this was printed up for a fest or a release gig, but I can’t exactly recall which. This one is cheap and ending soon, better snatch it up. I expect big things from this band. Big things.

We’re The Ones Pushed To The Side…

I really miss Last In Line. Great band who played hardcore-punk when every one else was going for youth crew or metal. Their shows were nuts. People say Boston hated the circle pit, but the Wmass kids sure didn’t. Huge circle pits when LIL would play. Also lots of flying debris. I think their L.P. record release show and the Gabby’s Halloween Show riot both might make it into a top 10 shows ever list for me. I also miss Mikey Flynn’s Edge, hand drawn MOSH IT UP! tank tops, and posi hair (surreal fact, Mikey just did a tour as bass player for Death Threat).

This is the Deranged repress of the Crosswalk E.P.; the original had a black/white cover and came out on Use Your Head Records, which I think was John Lockjaw’s label?

Piss yellow! Appropriate for an L.P. with a GG Allin cover. Admittedly it’s not in the best condition, hence a super low BIN.

Yeah. I miss the shit out of this band.

Crosswalk video.
Cooch on bass!

ALERT!

If you haven’t heard Alert yet, you must be living in a yurt in the middle of Big Sur.

I can’t think of any other reason you would have missed out on this crew.

Seriously.

This band is all about fun. They bring it back like the late 80s. No one takes themselves to seriously, but pride in their actions is apparent. Lots of Straight Edge pride up on this one.

This lot is for the demo pressed on wax. I’m 90% positive it only came on clear and black, and both colors had an equal amount pressed. What’s odd is that the record label is some joint from Florida that I just can’t recall. I honestly would have expected a Western Mass label, but no.

Also, the cover is drawn up by Jay Jacoby. You’ve seen his work before, trust me. Great dude with a good eye (and a steady hand) for what bands want and deserve.

I suggest snapping this up. In about 6 months, you’ll be kicking yourself if you don’t. Trust me on that one.
